Hands down one of the best movies ever to be made. The story grips you to the core emotionally and the characters of Coffey and Edgecomb are ones you will never forget. Michael Jeter, who plays Eduard Delacroix, is such an underrated actor and doesn't get nearly enough credit for this role. His scenes were some of the most gut-wrenching and heart-breaking. I can understand where Doug Hutchison is coming from when he said that he feels isolated from the rest of the group. Everyone hates the evil guy in the movies, especially in movies like this particular one. Sometimes it actually makes them notorious because people remember them as "that guy that I didn't like in x movie." But something that I realized a long time ago is that if the actor can genuinely get you to hate their character's personality, then they are an amazing actor.

Behind the scenes looks like this are so valuable because they help you appreciate how much work goes into this process. As viewers, we watch the end result and it's heartbreaking and beautiful. But you watch this and realize how difficult it must have been to turn on that kind of emotion on cue and tell this soul-crushing story when you have to cut consistently.

Exactly, people need to stop acting like the Oscars are the “holy grail” and that movies and actors/actresses need them as validation for their performances. It’s nonsense. Two of the best movies I’ve ever seen in my life (Green Mile and Interstellar) got snubbed at the Oscars, meanwhile I’ve seen plenty of movies that won a lot of Academy Awards that I thought weren’t all that great.

Stephen King’s Movies And Even the music in these films are amazing. IT, Shawshank and the green mile always make me cry for some reason because they teach us very important lessons

The movie is very successful. Everyone in my family cried while watching. We watch it again and again. It was very realistic. It may be the only movie I watched crying.

This is the POWER OF MAKE BELIEVE. THESE AMAZING ACTORS BECAME-the story-MADE themselves believe-that they were the story....idk call me a serious behind the scenes theatrical nerd-but I get such thrill and a serious tear in the eye, and emotion from the heart-because it so much more than playing a character and being famous. There is a pure beauty in what all they do. Respect ✊🏽

I never really notice the music of movies unless y'know it's in the charts or rammed down ur throat every ten minutes but I really remember the music of this and I really enjoy it. Its beautiful, dramatic, playful and just awe inspiring.

Even though I live all the way across the United States, the farthest state from California, I hope one day to meet Tom Hanks, he is my hero.

If you haven't seen it, (you probably have by now) The Shawshank Redemption, also by Stephen King, is another Frank Darabont masterpiece.
