Awesome! What rain gaitors did you use for river crossings? And did your feet stay dry with them?

Scott’s are Outdoor Research ones, mine are from Rab. Both brands are alpine goretex gaters. Fab for snow or wet/thorny bush but won’t completely seal off the top of your boots in rivers. Gives you a better chance to get across dry in shallow waters, but you better be quick.

Hi! I'm planning to do part of the E1, start in Nordkapp, but halfway through Europe break off the path and head towards Asia. I have a question regarding the map (if any) that you used to navigate the Norway section and how to know where you can restock food? Thanks and keep hiking, you look like amazing people, happy and with a big love for life :)

Thank you! :) That sounds like an amazing plan! You can find a lot more on our planning for the Scandinavian section of the E1 (including our resupply stops) on our blog: rebootlife.me/expeditions/stage-1-scandinavia/ We used Gaia GPS to navigate on our two iPhones. If you buy the subscription you can download maps for offline use. Pretty good deal on a long-distance expedition since you can get maps pretty much anywhere in the world through the app. In Norway, we had access to the Norwegian Topo set which was pretty good. To figure out where to resupply we primarily used Google maps. Did ok there. Unfortunately, we had to abandon our expedition due to Covid-19. We are back in New Zealand at the moment building a house bus. ;) Have fun planning and good luck with your hike!

This looks amazing! I’m so in love with the Scandinavian landscapes. Beautifully shot, looks like a wonderful experience :). When did you start at Nordkapp? Do you maybe know the earliest possible time to start the E1?

Thanks! Yes, it is a very special place! 😊We started last week of of June, but it all depends on the year. This year they have a lot more snow lingering up there than we did last year at this time. For mostly snow free travel generally July is good. But you have a long way to cover in the mountains before fall, so you will need to choose... we had snow last week in Jämtland before dropping down to lower elevations, but we had lost 3 weeks of summer due to injury.

I see you are not wearing boots, but shoes with someting around it or in it. I cannot see it very well on the video. What do you call these things? Thanks.

Ron 68be We are wearing boots with alpine gaiters over the top. Karma wears a pair from Rab and Scott Outdoor Research.

Whereabouts is the first offical hut in the trail? Does it have a name?
@RebootLife4 жыл бұрын
We are not sure about the location of huts as we mostly stay in our tent.

Carl Christiansson Åh Alice... det varierar lite. Om solen är framme tar det bara några timmar, men vid dåligt väder kan man få gå med blöta skor i flera dagar. 😘
