I once won 2 tickets on a BBC radio 1 show back in 1999 to go and watch blur debut their album "13" at the Hippodrome. I was a teenager at the time and i lived up in Manchester. I travelled to London and stayed with an Aunty who lived in Stockwell. I got to see first hand just how vast London is on that lengthy trip on the tube ffom Stockwell to Golders Green. Really fond memories of that place.

I've been in the US for many years now, but this area I used to know when I was a child & I'm 84 now. Finally I see the Hippodrome where my mother used to take me to pantomimes as a kid ! Wow ! It was always a nice area - we lived in West Hampstead then which was not quite as 'posh' as this area. I occasionally like to view videos of London to see what I can remember ! Not too much now, but it's nice to see something from my childhood. Thank you for your video !

The song Finchley Central by The New Vaudeville Band comes to my mind here. Golders Green is mentioned. I guess I'm giving my age range away here 😃

Looks nice, but very quiet for London. Which part of London is this?
@HDWanderLens9 ай бұрын
Yeah, Golders Green definitely has its own vibe - a bit quieter compared to the hustle and bustle of central London. Golders Green is in borough of Barnet, in the north-west part of London. Thank you so much for watching :)

It’s nice to see these videos and imagine what this place was like say 50 years ago. It’s just so sad that our government had politicians that thought by having it diverse and multicultural would be a good thing. I’m sure in small numbers with full integration with our culture would have been interesting. Sadly they didn’t think ahead about our English and British culture for future generations . It’s very sad to see how over run with immigration and multi ethnic communities it is. It’s been so rapid with the large numbers that the English have abandoned most of London. Goes to show that Mass uncontrolled immigration has destroyed much of our culture and England itself. Such a real shame and it’s now happening everywhere it seems. It was nice to know you England 🏴

It's understandable to reflect on the changes in our communities over time. While diversity can bring richness to a place, it's important to ensure integration and preservation of cultural heritage. Finding a balance is key to maintaining the essence of our English and British culture while embracing diversity. Let's cherish the beauty of our past while building a brighter future together. 🌟

Did you say Jewish? Boy has that changed, looked more like Muslim these days. One strictly kosher place before the railway bridge.
@olearyma579 ай бұрын
The Jews are afraid to go out due to rampant anti-semitism stalking every street corner. Still looks safer than Gaza though.

I live in here and it’s actually much more Jewish than ever, much more religious than 30 years ago when most Jews in the area were secular. The bulk of kosher shops are after the bridge, yes before the bridge is mainly Turkish and Polish and Korean, but most shops are Jewish after the hoop lane bridge. The area as a whole has gone from 29% Jewish in 2001, to 52% in 2021
