Hey! I'm from Mexico City, you are welcome here! I've traveled around the world and I can say Mexico City is still one of my top favourite cities ever!, you might go to El Zócalo, Reforma, Chapultepec, Roma-Condesa(the coolest neighborhood), Polanco, Coyoacán, Xochimilco. Mexico City is not dangerous, is so friendly and beautiful, it may happen some robberies in the bad areas (as every city in the world) but is not common, I've live here my entire life and never happend to me. Enjoy my beautiful city! It offers so much fun, art and culture

The Zócalo in Mexico City, officially known as the Plaza de la Constitución, is nothing short of a magnificent spectacle. It stands as one of the largest city squares in the world, pulsating with the energy of history, culture, and the vibrant spirit of Mexico. Bordered by iconic structures such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace, and the Templo Mayor archaeological site, the Zócalo is a mesmerizing convergence of past and present. During festive occasions, the square transforms into a dazzling tapestry of color and celebration, hosting massive events that bring together locals and visitors alike. The sheer scale of the Zócalo, coupled with its rich historical significance, creates an awe-inspiring atmosphere that captures the essence of Mexico's dynamic and resilient identity. It's not just a square; it's a living testament to the heart and soul of a nation. Thanks, Gabriel Traveler!

MEXICO CITY 🇲🇽 The oldest capital of North America, and of the Americas. (Mexico-Tenochtitlan) Historical capital of four political entities: Capital of the Aztec Empire Capital of the Viceroyalty of the New Spain Capital of the First Mexican Empire Capital of the Mexican Republic Nicknamed by the conquerors The Venice of the new world. Mexico City, is the second city with more museums, in the world, has the Chapultepec Castle, the only real castle in America to be inhabited by emperors. Besides the Bosque de Chapultepec that is three times bigger than Central Park in New York. El Paseo de la Reforma is considered the second most beautiful avenue in the world, after the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The capital has a legacy that mixes architecture, pre-Hispanic, colonial, and modern, making Mexico City a cosmopolitan city. The ancient Mexico-Tenochtitlan, capital of the Aztec Empire, has been transformed into "Mexico City" The metropolis of Latin America. 🏢🏣🏡⛲

It is very interesting to see Mexico City from a different perspective. I used to live in Mexico City when I was younger and remember when there was no dancers in the plaza. I remember when the first guy started doing "cures" and then it developed up to what it is today with many dancers and many people selling cures. The Templo Mayor has been there for about 40 years now, it was discovered when the metro line was built.

in July 25/26 at El Zocalo the natives do a massive ceremony, they don't ask for money, what you saw were "dancers" performing for money, but the ceremony that i'm telling you is different, you can follow the group "Fundación de Tenochtitlan" at facebook to know when they are going to do their ceremonies.

Actually, I can't judge, since I just about did the same thing and had to look in my guidebook to find it ; ) Tell you what, any traveler with any sense of history must see that museum, since it houses the actual base of the original great temple in Tenochtitlan!

For public use only the one in Chihuahua, northern Mexico. El Chepe, it travels through the copper canyon region, looks awesome. I think it's about 16 hours of scenery, a ticket is good for three days and you're allowed to get on and off the train at different depots. There's a tequila tour train, but I'm sure it's only like 3 hours tops.
