Oh my goddess. This village sounds like it would be perfect for me. Like, it actually sounds like the kind of place I would arrive in and then never leave. It looks like Pai in Thailand except...cooler. :) And omg, they offer Mayan language lessons??? That is the most amazing thing ever!!!

Lake Atilan is so beautiful. The volcanoes look somewhat similar to Ometepe, Nicaragua. I have heard this song in some Bollywood movie. The hippie alley looked really energetic!

Yes it is indian music that we found appropriate to the energy over there :) hihi. We didn't go to Ometepe but it does look similar!! Atitlan is the most beautiful place we've ever seen... So magical.

Atitlan is absolutely magical. I only stayed in Pana, but I wished I had more time to stay in the villages. I visited San Marcos for a day and it was def my favourite village :) You guys should try the coffee, it's amazing!

We didn't even drink coffee in San Marcos! Only in Antigua :) actually we were so bewitched by San Marcos that we stayed there 2 weeks... And now we want to go back to see the Mayan villages around! Like Huehuetenango and Quetzaltenango :)

Hey, sorry for the delay in response! In Guatemala we felt very safe, but apaprently Guatemala City is a bit dangerous (we didn't go there, only passed through). I think like in any country, you should just know your limits and not walk around in the dark! We felt perfectly safe in Antigua and of course the Atitlan region :)
