Thanks for posting this. I'm coming to stay for a week tomorrow in this area and it was good to see before we get there.

Fall is probably one of the busiest times for conventions in nola. Summer really slow because it's 92 degrees with 90% humidity for 3 solid months

Thanks for the tour brother! I see a lot has changed downtown over the years, and from watching this video, things are still changing. Don't you hate how long it takes to do any type of road or sewer work in N.O.!!! I was actually in New Orleans for the 1984 World's Fair, had a blast. During that visit, when I first approached the river front, I was blown away by what they had done to the Warehouse District. When I left N.O. in 1975, those were actually warehouses, mostly used for storing cargo from the nearby ports. There was no Convention Center and all the streets were brick, lol!!! I'm sure you're old enough to remember, The Crescent City Connection (a.k.a. the Mississippi River Bridge!) was a single bridge before they built it's twin? LoL!!! I Look forward to meeting you in person bro, hopefully I'll be down for Mardi Gras! POW!!! -djsoulforce!

Aprés bruleé means after burn. I haven't been in the Warehouse district since the World's Fair. Remember what it used to look like before the fair?
@JohnnieV5 жыл бұрын
No. I was in high school in 1984. Mostly warehouses i guess?

Is it safe to walk from the French Quarter to the bridge at night?
@JohnnieV3 жыл бұрын
Why would u want to walk to the bridge?? That's a very long walk. But once you get out of the quarter it is pretty safe. Hardly any people. Not a great idea at night

I don't think I've hardly ever been in this area.

Really picking up nowadays. Plenty condo and loft type places being converted for high dollar prices since location so close to downtown or maybe even considered downtown.

@@JohnnieV I watched further and around 5:00 you're by the Convention Center. I used to go the the auto show there. I am amazed at how much it looks like New York or something once you're off on the side streets. It's cool to see everything from a different point of view other than Pontchartrain Expressway, lol.

Midnight Mystery thanks for watching. Yep. I have some pics from 1984 world’s fair when I was in high school band. Trendy restaurant and bar area for sure.

@@JohnnieV I've heard the stories of the worlds fair. My mom has a shot glass and a poster. It's cool that a fair created another downtown neighborhood years after the city was built. Surprised convention center boulevard was partially closed.

Midnight Mystery convention center blvd been closed on one side probably two years now. It’s a joke. Was really bad for Mardi Gras since parades sometimes end there.
