That is a good one, and it can be used to explain other complaints I see in the comments, mainly why didn't they survived the fire. The Walking Wake and its bros, and the three legendary dog-cats might have been inmune/resistant/powerful enough to survive, but the middle form, the descendants of the WW and Co. might have not. Which kinds of open the door to having some sort of Suikune, Raikou and Entei's pre-evolution. That would be adorable, but also tragic in context.

I mean it makes sense especially since it is the generation that introduced convergent evolution. Weirdly the dominant fan theory is that it's all a dream and paradox Pokemon aren't real. By that I mean they were created from the new disk legendary from the imaginations of the area zero explorers, so they are not from the past or future. Which is weird because multiple dimensions, alternate timelines and spacetime travel is canon in the games and lore so it shouldn't be that unrealistic that the paradox Pokemon are from the past or future, but they might not be from OUR past/future.

I would think the ancient amalgamation of the legendary beasts is an ancestor to walking wake and the rest. Also, they usually kept themselves hidden from humans so, when they would die in the aforementioned building no one would know what they were, also not even have a name for them. Only for Ho-Oh to revive them using DNA from dogs to fill in the parts that were damaged. Also, the ancient amalgamation could've died and been revived as separate beings into walking wake and the rest then later into the legendary beasts we know today.

It makes the most sense to me that it was three Eeveelutions - specifically Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon - that Ho-oh had essentially reincarnated due to the prevalence of Eeveelutions in the town (and how afterwards, the Beasts’ Hidden Abilities were the Eeveelutions’ Normal Abilities). The only way I see the Paradox Beasts making sense is if they are all Parallel Paradox mons, making use of Multiverse Theory due to the time-travel present in both games, but even then it’s iffy.

It is possible for a fire type to die in a fire because not only does it take damage from fire moves (except when they have Flash Fire), some pokemon have to breathe out fire from time to time in order to not overheat (i don't remember which pokemon specifically tho, I need to recheck)

There was a meme on R/MandJTV that I think fits perfectly with what I’ve added on, So the Amalgamation Splits into three (Walking wake and the others) then those three devolve into normal doggies that died in the fire, Ho-Ohs Magic revives the three and makes them closer in appearance to their prehistoric counterparts, this way we get the amalgamation, Walking wake and the others, and the modern versions while staying in the previously established lore

I have more theories on this. A) Everything in Area Zero is powered by imagination logic like Molly using Unowns' powers to create of dream life in that movie. B) The legendary dogs had been originally the last descendants of their paradox form if they were not rare escapees ( map doesn't match up with that) that got given life and new traits to survive in the much colder climate. C) Ho-oh, as an immortal pokemon, likely saw the original paradox pokemon and kept ashes of them, which they had used to give life and new traits to the fallen dog pokemon. Giving them some of the more powerful traits of their type from long ago since their original type strength was no way strong enough for that horrible night

A couple of ways a fire Pokémon could die in a building fire. Smoke inhalation and collapsing parts of the building. Very few people who die in a burning building die from burning to death. (Erupting Maw is a crazy good name so now whatever they do name the prehistoric Entei will never live up to my hopes.)
