omg, I graduated from U of O and back to my country for almost 6 years. Because of the busy work, I rarely have time to go to the USA. and my memory about street is a little bit blurry. I can see some places have changed, some places haven't in video. This video reminds me of the good days in Eugene. Thanks for the great video. really miss this city. 💚💛

Next time we do a downtown Eugene video I will make sure to get the library! I have been there multiple times and though there are some issues with homelessness I have never seen them directly in front of the library and it is still a great, safe place for families.

Omg I was waiting for it, too, bec it’s the most memorable place for me- we used to live in Eugene 2008-2010 and I used to take my baby to story time and JEFF…I remember you!!! You held my baby girl, who is now 15 yrs old, and so still have a picture of you carrying her- it was so sweet!! You look the same! Wonderful memories in Eugene’s Public Library!!!

Great video. Would love to see you do a tour of the Saturday/Famer's Market sometime, especially when they are having some kind of cosplay event that coincides with it so there's lots of people in costumes.

Look closer. Even at 4:23 you can see a homeless man loitering on the right. Also this is in the morning. It isn't like this in the daytime and evening. The thousands of homeless drug addicts,along with the mentally ill,helped make Eugene an unsafe,and wildly unpredictable city. I don't go there anymore. They prefer catering to the homeless,over protecting businesses. The same situation in Portland.

Haha that's ok. You may get a few looks but you'll be fine. Oregon State is only an hour from here so there are definitely Beaver fans in Eugene!!

i'm watching this as a french student looking out for fun places to move for my year abroad, nothing quite like this channel to get a good feel of what the city is like! pictures or written testimonies just aren't the same

There's a lot of homeless people and drug addicts, just keep that in mind. This isn't a realistic representation of downtown at all.

Thinking of moving there with my family. Residents, is the homelessness issue a reason not to go?

Video doesn't depict the squalor all four directions. I had a fellow offer to slit my throat by passing a fish boning knife within 3" and I had on scrubs (sunny Sat, 5pm)! Yes, the DT Library is nice, but don't take your daughter to the puppet show on second floor: might also get to see "parton" convulsing, foaming at the mouth from overdose (needle receptacle in restrooms). Young black guy offered to "mess me up" reference desk. A crazy once made his way across waiting/coffee shop area to chest bump me at 9:55am. I had seen him previously sitting on 11th by Kiva, whacking female passersby in the back of their knees as they passed. Lastly, corner where the video begins, I saw a pretty young woman arrest, EMTs called.... I know Eugene from 02/1971...lived there in every decade since. Left 2 years ago to live in Mexico...should have left sooner. Have to go back fairly often, work, storage, lousy VA.

I'm 67, and lived there most of my life. That city has been ruined. I sold my properties and left. This video is NOT representing Eugene. You can't allow your children to play in the local parks. The bike paths are now homeless hangouts and campsites. The library too is unusable because of street people. The unmedicated walk down the street screaming. Aggressive panhandling. The policies of Eugene Council are super liberal, and they posture to the extreme left. If all of that sounds appealing, by all means move there.
