Early renders have that rudimentary charm, a rough shape of things to come.

I appreciate this. I always remembered how 'unique' the early rendered models were in the books and sticker books. Walking With Dinosaurs (1999) will always be close to my heart. I think it's still liked by those whom were born after it aired, but as a 7 year old when it released, it mesmerised me and it has always been my favourite palaeomedia. It means so much to me. I love the creative process that produced the series, and that includes these 'uncanny' early models that made it into various brand related books. Very charming. It's timeless to me.

Some of these are photoshopped images of modern animals, such as the Torosaurus and Hybodus. Others seem to be paintings or stills of the actual cgi models, such as the Edmontosaurus and Allosaurus, and others look like meshes of the practical effects, paintings and cgi models such as the Leaellynasaura.
