Harriet and I are exploring the delightful town of Bridgnorth in Shropshire. We cross the famous bridge, stroll up the Cartway, visit the town hall and the north gate, peer up at St Lawrence Church, St Mary's, Telford's Church, the slanted castle tower and take a ride on the Cliff Railway. Do join us for the jaunt.

I see Lola the pooch was not the only old dog in this video exploring Bridgnorth with the previous squeeze, the delightful Harriet. I must say, it's one of, if not the best video you have made.

It was great seeing my old home town again.. Lots of interesting facts... I really didn't know Hitler wanted to make Bridgnorth his UK base if he had won... Can't blame him, it is a very nice place to live. There are so many interesting facts about Bridgnorth that you missed, but for a brief walk about, you did a grand job. Thank you both & Lola :-)

Fabulous video, my Granddad was from Bridgnorth, I visited some years ago, used the venicular rail, but didn't have much time to explore, I did get to the Castle. My Granddad and his family were from the lower town, he and his father were groomsmen. Another relative and his wife ran the public house in the high town.

Don Threadgold Nice to see Bridgenorth again, In 1959 I did my Square Bashing there at the RAF Camp which I think is now an Industrial estate. A Hell of a lot of shouting and balling was the significant feature there! It did me no harm at all and I enjoyed my time in the RAF short though it was.

Lovely! I lived in St. Leonard's Close (newborn to toddler) in the late 1950's in a huge Georgian house that was an army hiring. Earliest memories include a neighbour who kept rabbits for meat in his cellar, and a woman happily married to an Englishman. She had fled Germany as a refugee, and was struggling to gain citizenship years later, my mother recalls.

Bridgnorth is very pretty and historically fascinating. I grew up in Kifderminster, which is at the other end of the Severn Valley Railway line, so visited often as a kid. It's actually very intact as far as Midlands town are concern, having survived the 60s pretty much unscathed. (Pity the same thing can't be said for Kidderminster!) There are cave houses all over this part of the world, including restored ones in Kinver that were on Grand Designs, and one in Wolverley that is hidden behind a typical Victorian brick facade. There are times I wish I could afford move back but I don't drive due to disability and it's a very difficult life in small town rural areas where public transport is nonexistent if you don't have a vehicle.

That leaning castle keep was on another video I watched a few years ago, can't remember if it was time team or not, will have to look it up. This town seems to love hanging baskets, I'd love to have the watering concession! One of the things I've noticed is that the British seem to think letting their cats roam about is okay.
