Today I am in Midhurst exploring the castle on St Anne's Hill. From the Norman times up until the Tudor period there has been a fortified manor or castle at Midhurst. These days there is only the shell of the burnt out Cowdray House. Join me as I explore the story and walk around the area.

If anyone is interested, the book, Green Darkness, by Anya Seton, is set around Cowdray, St. Ann's Hill, The Spread Eagle at Midhurst and Ightham Mote. The book is a famous best seller combining themes of mysticism, suspense, mystery, romance and reincarnation, where the repercussions from Tudor times affect the lives of the characters in the modern day 1960's. It's one of my favourite novels and well worth a read. Thank you, Richard, for your fascinating videos!

Thanks Richard I enjoy watching your Vlogs and find pleasure my main interest is the Bilble as I believe everything that has a been created has a creator sadly I find that there is a conflict between religions and the Bible. The group of people I find make are Jehovah's Witnesses getting on to history I enjoy your programs they are explained with a lot of passion behind it. Thirdly Music these days as long as it is pleasure to my ears I used to play in a Rock Band happily not famous though These days I am unable to go anywhere due to my Wife's depression for the last 4 years and being mostly indoors looking after her. Thanks once again for the excellent vlogs

I've been to Cowdray House a few times. A really impressive ruin. I have walked all the way round, taking photographs. I didn't know about St Anne's Hill, I will be going up there on my next visit.
