Walksnail FPV | First Test Flights

Just updated from analog fpv to digital. This was my first couple flights and my thoughts on the system.
So far I am loving the new system. I do have some complaints, but so far it's a lot of fun.
Aircraft: Volantex Ranger 1600
Flight Controller: SpeedyBee F405 Wing
Googles: Fatshark Dominator
Antennas: TrueRC x2Air and Singularity Stubbies
VTX: Avatar Pro HD
Transmitter: RadioMaster TX16S with ELRS module
Battery: DIY 21700 Li Ion cells. 4S 5000mah

Great vid and flying! I've just got into FPV flying and have a similar setup to yourself, with the Ranger 1600 and Speedybee F405 Wing. I'm running TBS Crossfire Nano with Analog FPV video for now. I can't wait to maiden! :)

Excellent! I really like the ranger. One tip I can give you is don’t give full throttle for launch. I mentioned it in this video, but I found less throttle works better. In inav I set my auto launch throttle to 1600 and that seems to be working well. That’s using a 4 cell battery. More throttle pushes the nose down and makes the launch kinda sketchy. @@BuildItBetter3D good to know thank you! What did you have your auto launch take off angle settings at? Ive heard people say they can be left as default but I’m just wondering.

I believe my launch angle is at 18. Also my level flight angle ( don’t remember the exact name) is around 5 but I think that’s a little too much.

@@BuildItBetter3D Ahh ok, I think ive got my settings at a good starting point. It's slightly nerve racking when I think I'm going to throw this thing into the air and let the FC auto launch it skywards lol.

@@tomcowe I know what you mean. The first couple times I did it I thought for sure I would have to save it. It is awesome though. I can throw and now walk over to my seat without any worry. It's hard to believe I ever did it manually. Best of luck on you maiden!

Really nice flight to watch. Alwyas enjoy narrated flights. What was the issue with you rx with the constant failsfes? Its hard to believe ELRS would have issues so close to home

Thank you. The elrs antenna was too close to the vtx antenna. Once I moved it to the tail of the plane the issue was gone.
