Walkthrough - JFK Airport to the A Train on NYC Subway

A walkthrough from de-planing to the baggage claim area and then to the AirTrain. On the AirTrain we go to Howard Beach Station to catch the A train. How the Metrocard works on exiting the AirTrain is also shown.

I would take the airtrain to the Suptin-Blvd Archer ave station to take the J or Z train to the financial district in Manhattan.

@@dylanhernandez674 it was pretty much a coin toss because I was going to Fulton and I didn’t have anywhere pressing to be. Truthfully the next time I go to NYC I will probably take the J since I took the A last time.

I did this once. Took the AirTrain to Howard Beach-JFK and I’ll never do it again 😖

It IS somewhat tedious but it’s less expensive than a taxi!

how are you supposed to get big suitcases through the turnstiles?

Several options… (1) if you are with someone else have them go through first, phantom swipe your own Metrocard (swipe but don’t walk through turnstile), have friend who already went through open the tall barred emergency gate for you and the luggage… Or (2) lift luggage up over turnstile first, swipe and go through… There is no super easy way…
