it makes you think just how much shimmer breaks a randomized block world like this, now imagine if shimmer existed when you did the "randomized every boss" world
@9Tensai94 ай бұрын
I've been playing in a randomized world (altough I can see) and my generation was mainly composed of "unnatural blocks". For example the corruption had asphalt instead of grass and crystal blocks. The snow turned into pink collapsable dungeon bricks and glowing pink glass blocks. All sand is crimson with only a few natural patches and dirt got turned into sapphire and stone into activated blocks. Underground there are a lot of stone slabs and stucco bricks of different colors. The most striking ones are the giant trees. All the leaves got turned into "anti portal blocks" (I had no idea those existed) and the wood is glowing blood red glass bricks. It's so uncanny and cool. It was so fun having to find the normal blocks and I managed to find dirt that replaced the seashell piles that you find at sea. I mean I got excited for dirt!!! Another fun but tedious thing is that I have to create artificial biomes all over the place. Like an artificial corruption with corrupted grass. In the end I feel like I spawned in a completely "modernized" world that lacks nature and it's all concrete and glass. Cold and desolated but I am managing to create little patches of nature everywhere. The world is healing!! Funny enough the ash got turned into leaves and apparently it can hold lava no problem. The hell houses also look brutalist and cold which is such a cool new look for the underworld. A great but tedious run.

I think the paint scraper is fair game. IMO the most satisfying part of this playthrough is the slow revealing of the outlines of the world, which you’ve done a bit of with torches, placed blocks, sand, liquids, flares, etc. but is *way* more practical with the scraper. I doubt you’d use it for ~everything~ (or even want to), but for commonly-trafficked areas (hellevator, shimmer, arenas, paths, etc.) make sense. Slowly reclaiming certain areas

It always feels like just using Featherfall would solve all of your problems. Can't dodge spin? Featherfall can. Can't reach the wall that high? Featherfall can. You can hold down to get normal fall speed again, or hold up to go even higher. It lasts a long time, too. With summoning Plantera, you'll probably have to make an artificial jungle. You can buy evil biome seeds from the Dryad during a blood moon, put them on mud, then purify them. Or you can get a glowing mushroom biome somehow, buy mushroom seeds from the Dryad, and shimmer them. Once you make a good-sized farm and sleep, you should get a bulb every 15 minutes or so, with the added benefit of fast life fruit.

I want to see what the world looks like at some point. With no dungeons Plantera is the final boss accessible right? So either have to spawn in a matter manipulator and craft any Moonlord tablets or end it there. Without Golem, Moonlord is still defeatable but would just be a different kind of challenge. The entire point of this is that blocks are invisible, and that they'll be revealed after a certain milestone. Why "break the magic" and get to see whatever whenever? Then, the reclamation point of Evan's comment, i think, ties back into my previous argument. You can already reclaim by building/placing torches.
