This looks far more charming and interesting than the other MR games I've seen. That said, I'm not sure there would be enough content to draw me in. Maybe if it were cheap enough and I only wanted a short diversion. Kudos to the devs though, for making a MR game that looks remotely interesting to me.

I chose the option of claiming vs building when asked to build a new building. It seems now I can’t move forward in the game. Have you come across this issue? Is there a way to go back and choose the action build?

Absolutely. If I remember, there are a few things around this. Anything that can be upgraded will have an arrow on it when you go to the tab that shows you all the buildings. Any building claimed but not built will still show here. Click on it and look for the hammer icon. Additionally, I found I had unclaimed buildings that were in the gift icon. Once claimed, they opened up new things. That actually held me up for a bit.

How do you get the menu back? I messed up placing the Town Hall and now the building is gone. I'm stuck, or the game is stuck. Where is the menu? Thanks
