I believe art should start with the urge of the artists to just want to see it, hear it or create it and the artists just enjoys their own work or use it as journey to perfect their skills to make something they will eventually really enjoy themselves. Then if an audience enjoys it, I believe that is just an added bonus. Art with a message is good, but doesn't have to be the soul reason to do it. I really enjoy hearing Wallace's views on art and enjoy the characters he plays in Young Sheldon and Star Trek DS9. Star Trek in a way is a form of art with a message, a message of respecting people's rights and beliefs which I believe politics destroys and degrade and tries to separate people even more no matter what side (left or right). I can like a person I disagree with, they can't.
