Oh my goodness at 1.25 you say about your grandfather Trott had a chandler store... My mum and her family (her mum and dad were Jack and Violet Charlesworth) lived above what people knew as Trottys and she has been searching for pictures of it for so long. The shop was at the corner/top of Tobin Street? The stories she has of living there are plenty! Can't wait to show her this 😊

REALLY INTERESTING VIDEOS really? The shop I was talking about was on King Street and it was on the corner of Tobin street that leads down to the egremont ferry pub (the eggy) it was called trottys junk shop by all who knew it. 😊

REALLY INTERESTING VIDEOS oh goodness me!!! That’s my grandad Jack! 😀 My mums dad. He was married to violet. My mum is Louise Charlesworth and she had four brothers Bill, Chris, Phillip and Andy. Yes, it was on the right because what used to be the bank is still on the left.

REALLY INTERESTING VIDEOS oh goodness that’s him. He was a lead commando in the war and wasn’t tall but a real toughie 🤣. I have heard stories he was at some point the lifeguard along the prom and bare knuckle fighter. I’m so glad someone remembers him. Yes, Andy is still here and did have jet black hair and was apparently the double of Jimmy Tarbuck. He worked on the ferries back then. I remember the eggy being packed out as you said and clinging as a small child to the column post thing in the middle of the floor so that the woman called Evelyn who ran it then didn’t see me in there, (of course she knew) 😄. I have inherited my mums photos that include some from in there. If we wanted to see my grandad we had to find him in the eggy. My mum told me all about davie Jones’s locker were they all frequented at the weekend. Oh the stories! Is that really true about the Beatles? I know he told me he made his peawack for one of Paul’s parties but you took everything with a pinch of salt and I think it was to make me eat it 😉😂
