In case you run out of swivels when the bite’s hot, learn the back-to-back uni knot to tie your braid directly to your leader. Anymore, I don’t even use swivels. Tip: double over a 6-8” portion of your braid and secure it with a surgeon’s knot before you start. Great video anyhow, you’re a great guy!

you do realise the swivel is not juts there to unite both lines but to keep line from twisting right?

Late reply, use a stinger hook! I use 4-6 inches of 8lb mono or flouro and attach it to a size 8 berkely fusion treble. I’ve landed plenty of walleye with only the stinger in their mouth. In my experience, i would say stinger lands me 50% more fish than when I didn’t use it. Great video, was very clear for any new walleye fishers.

cast 11 oclock on the American side … close your bail as soon as the jig hits the water so the line stays tight... this is the key right here BE PATIENT AND LET THE JIG HIT THE BOTTOM OF THE RIVER... when it hits the bottom of the river immediately reel up the slack line and lift the jig up 1 ft and let it hit the bottom again , then reel up the slack and lift the jig over and over . I hope this helps you … please give me your results

Close to the way I do it on the U.S. side, but I use 8lb Sigma line 2lb diameter. I dont use floracarbon, I tie my Sigma straight to my jig. Less bite-off's that way, and I use a 3/8's oz jig, sometimes even as low as 5/16's oz. The lighter the jig the more STRIKES I get. Looks like a nice pier wall you guys have to fish off of. Good Luck with the HOG-EYE'S this year Buck! Oh yea I pour and paint all my own jigs. Save lotsa loot that way.

Hey, Buck, I don't normally fish with the braided line but you have convinced me to try it. So If I buy a spool of that power pro I will need like 400 yards to put on my 2500 reel. Is this why you use a smaller reel size like the 2000 series?
@BuckFishes4 жыл бұрын
a 2000 or a 2500 series reel hold about 150- 175 yrds of 8 lb braid depending on brand of reel , I use a pflueger president reel 2000 series and it is a smaller reel but I like it like that for my comfort.
