An interesting walk but you missed far more than you included. The crest of Edward VIII on the front of the old post office, the whole of the castle site, the Kinecroft, the Bullcroft, St Peter's Church, Jethro Tull's house - it's a place positively saturated with interesting history. You could do an equally long video just going round the castle site explaining what was where. Back in the day, Wallingford wasn't near Oxford and Reading; Oxford and Reading were near Wallingford. Oh, and the impressive big gates were the gates to the Victorian house built on the site of the castle but sadly now demolished.

Oops, messed that up !! ... start again ... A lovely English Town, I've been to the "Wallingford BunkFest" a couple of times, a music festival which takes place on a large green in the town. This included a river boat ride, which included singers and musicians sailing down the river on a hot summer's day, it was so hot you wanted to stay in the shade !! I did take a quick look around the town when there, and I crossed that famous 'chocolate box' bridge - but I never saw what you included in this video - I must have missed all that, so thanks for taking us around 👍👍 Keep em coming Mr Walk 🚶🚶😄😄🇬🇧🇬🇧☃️🎄☃️🎄☃️🎄

Nice to see many Wallingfordians replying here. I am German but used to live in Cholsey and I worked in The Royal Standard pub from 1996 to 1998. Sadly you did not walk past it, but it is seen at the beginning of the video, where The Five Little Pigs is a few houses further on, at the end of the road.

Was just there in December - I thought I had booked a room at the George seen here, but accidentally booked a room at the George at Dorchester-on-Thames - which was also fantastic!

Enjoyed out time living in Wallingford, although never got uses to writing Oxon instead of Berkshire on our address. Sad the County boundaries changed.Move back to Berkshire with work

The River Thames is on the outskirts of town. Can't recall flooding there, housing estates are away from the river

It's very strange to see you down my neck of the woods! Your Windsor video was very enjoyable. I'm in Reading, but I've never been to Wallingford. Henley and Sonning would make stunning videos x

Thanks for the video! Wallingford is where my ancestors came from and I'm taking a vacation to visit soon. If anyone has any local restaurants or other tips it would be appreciated. And if anyone is an actual Wallingford let me know. Thanks!

Hi Andrew, I'm a current Wallingfordian. At the beginning of the video, you see 'Five Little Pigs'. This is a great restaurant. 'Avanti' is a good Italian and 'The OPO (The Old Post Office)' has a large menu.

I too am a Wallingfordian atm the pizza cafe (not pizza express) has a wide range of baguettes and pizzas, also quite cheap. The castle meadows roughly outside the George hotel are a nice visit too, the ruins of the castle lay beyond the entrance behind the hills, so if you are looking for a climb go for it!

I was born in Wallingford in 67 when it was in the Royal County of Berkshire; the hospital I was born in, St George’s, is long gone. My Parents lived in Cholsey at the time & that’s where Agatha Christie is buried. Haven’t been there for years but I know they’ve got a nice little museum there.

Just watching your walk around Wallingford Neil, we've been there a few times, there is a camp site on the opposite side of the bridge just further down, it's a beautiful little town and there's a walk along the river (on the pub side) that takes you to a village called Benson, lovely video Neil but I just wish you would put your music back on, I used to feel so uplifted as you walked us around a place and I always came away from your videos feeling great because of it xx ❤️
