After watching your videos the past few years and loving all of them, you've convinced me to start playing 5e. I've been playing AD&D and 2e for 40+ years and decided to delve into 5e. Thank you for all that you do here and for the inspiration to continually improve on my homebrewed worlds.

Awww man, thank you for posting this Chad. It's great comments like this that keep me wanting to make more videos! I made the jump from BECMI/1E AD&D to Pathfinder to 5E, and have to say, I absolutely love 5E (although BECMI will always have a place in my heart). I'm sure you will enjoy it and feel free to reach out at anytime if you have questions. Cheers, Chad! Thank you!

Great video, totally not biased. XD I love the growth this idea has gone through to a full fledged video. Can't wait to use this in an upcoming campaign though.

Glad you liked the way everything came out! I agree... it is really cool to see an idea grow and blossom the way this one did. Cheers!

Another well demonstrated trap. Nice job Nobody.

Agreed! This was a fun one. :-)

Ohhhh absolutely devious thanks xD. In the spike pit room I would add mirrors or further symbols, sigils or images. As I get the feeling the creator of this trap,would enjoy making the characters trying to sober up from the gas. To really suffer for those 4 minutes.

Haha, I love the extra bit you put into this, well done! Glad you like the trap. I wish I could run it someday, should be a lot of fun. Thank you for the comment. Have a great weekend! :-)

Great video as always wally! Nobody did a really good job with this trap its something as an evil dm would definitely use to mess with his players (aka me)

Put their hand through this wall with no problem at all Nice rhyme Fun trap idea overall. Could see it as a rite of passage for cultists, are they able to embrace the illusions or flee from them type of thing.
@WallyDM3 жыл бұрын
Haha! I didn't rhyme on purpose, but the it did stick into my head as I kept playing that portion while trying to edit. Also... The "rite of passage" idea reminds me of Army Basic Training when we had to go through the gas chamber to experience the effects of gas. I love this as a cultist initiation. Great idea! Thank you my friend!

I think I may use this in LMoP, if the characters go to Thundertree....

I've used 4 of Wally DM's traps in LMoP. The book is really great too.

Meow. I would make it to where (1) the way they came in is sealed by an invisible magical door (2) you can't see or pass through the egress on the other side of the room unless you have failed your constitution save against the gas. They would become more and more likely to fail it the longer they are in that room as there is (A) noway to exit the room and (B) they have to make the roll every round (3) I would make the illusion of the statues moving to also make it appear as though the statues (in the minds eye of the person attacking said statue) would be getting hurt when attacked and moving/attacking back when the attacker takes the psychic damage.

Some solid alterations here, Marvel. I can get behind these, for sure. Cheers!

Why is there no way to stop the gas?
@WallyDM3 жыл бұрын
There could be, if you want a way to turn off the gas, you could design the encounter with valves or something along those lines. If I run this, the statues are covering a hole that leads to a chamber below. Below the chamber is an acidic, toxic pond of evil holy water that gives off continuous chemical reactions resulting in gases. The statues are a way of evenly dispersing this gas into the chamber. If the characters found a way to move the statues they would see the larger holes and the gas would rush in so fast that it could be lethal. But again, the video is simply an idea and a building block for a game master to incorporate into their game. Be sure to let me know how you would run this in your game. :-)
