Here at Sun Distributing, we believe that the supplier of the window film should know every aspect of the business. It makes it hard when a tinter or tint shop needs support but their supplier does not know the business from one end to the other. I started as a tinter helper in 1989 and worked my way up to the point of distribution. Along the way I have put together a successful retail tint shop and know every hurdle that a tinter and/or shop owner could face. I believe that there is an extreme value to having a company with our experience in the industry having your back.

Good second "followup" video of the Black Magic 'walmart" ceramic tint. I've used the Black Magic 20% tint when it was labeled "PROFESSIONAL", and it worked great (no haze). The "SELECT" tint of the Black Magic series is PURE CRAP, and turns purple after a while. Looks like the version of the 20% will work great for my needs (and it looked good on the window you did). Thanks for the comparisons.

Great video! I actually learned on Walmart tint (thank you self checkout) in 2004. The expensive stuff use to be a metalized layer instead of ceramic and it has always looked like that. It was also much harder to work with and would not shrink good at all. Only benefit was since the stuff was so thin you really never needed to shrink it on side windows and if you did, you could do it with just a hair dryer.

Yes I can do a review on it... Wanted to do a 35 on top of 50 in ceramic . To get a darker tint up front. but yes I can tell you 100 that the tint in ceramic is worth every penny have a expedition and it's all leather dashboard... Located in Florida and feels over 100 these past 2 yrs... And well I had stock windshield no ceramic of anything.. didn't notice till one day I was cleaning the entire car ad the dash on the driver's side.. was a big air bubble..so scared to do it but from what I've seen have to make a very small hole where the air bubble is.. heat up the area that the air bubble was created.. push all air out through where the bubble is. And it well and should come out and keep it back to original size it was.. but don't want to damage the leather from overheating it.. but once I installed ceramic.. does not matter how dark you go... Ceramic does its job alone... Want stock look ask for 70% in ceramic.. want a haze or a small bypass of tint.. go 50 like I did.. if you want sunglasses on your car😂 go 35% dark outside but inside looks great... Don't recommend going darker have my own review on what I had up on my channel... Invest into ceramic tint.. if you don't want to do the entire car yet... Best bet is the entire windshield. And rear.. most hot spots.

@rachelblack3816

The regular window tint (viewed from the inside of the car) gives light a slight greenish tint, where the ceramic film appears to be closer to neutral. Compare the white wall in the background through the non-tinted glass at the back of the door, then compare the white wall in the distance through the two different tints; there is an obvious green tint on the regular film, the ceramic tint looks more natural but does have a lesser blue tint, and looks better in my opinion.

🎉 Walmart makes this ceramic tint in a 35% version that would be perfect for front doors for legalities in most States. You ought to try an experiment with that and see if that tests out with the same results.

Thanks so much for the milk demo. I never use enough soap in my solution because I'm afraid it will show up as residue under the tint when it dries. I've wasted a lot of tint over the years because I couldn't reposition it without damaging it. Apparently the soap squeezes out more thoroughly than I thought, so I can make life much easier on myself from now on......lol

Am not a tint guy I did it yesterday on some windows.. and well it's worth it.. from what I've did apply warm water and baby shampoo the orange bottle..apply it in a spray bottle.. use a squeegee with the soft edge apply it to the squeegee.. if your angles are not correct.. then apply the solution to the tint and window.. search up how to clean tinted windows and should see some straight forward.. also use the razor method like this guy he showed.. because of you apply tint just like that.. can have dirt on your tint which well cause later down the road to unstick... And once you have it all corrected.. the. Go ahead and use a heat gun to get rid of any water to secure your work.. if tint is unable to move just pick up the tint by the corners lifting it out and up..apply the solution so the tint is able to move freely.

I wonder if they reformulated it in the last year? They no longer have a 35% VLT option, and I picked up a roll really to put on my house windows (it's cheap, and really the only ceramic film you can buy in small batches/without having to contact an installation company. I really didn't care if it turned out a little hazy since the outside of the windows only gets cleaned once a year, so it's hazy anyways...) It's still obviously cheap, and has that typical blue/purple tint to it, but in your videos it seems to have a green tint. Maybe they actually listened, maybe it's all in my head vs cheap tint that I've seen. as a good tint shouldn't be noticed at all (Like I didn't notice my car had a tint installed from the dealership until a month into owning it. and that's mostly because they used cheap garbage for the back window, so the edges started lifting + it faded to purple & hazed over within a couple years. the side windows I wouldn't have noticed except they wanted to keep the window stickers on so you can see there's a layer over them from the inside if you look close.) Now, if you plan on doing more than a couple windows, the cost of buying a bulk roll starts to make sense real quick. This stuff is ~$1.53-$1.92/sqft, whereas you can get a 20ft roll of a good ceramic like Xpel XR Plus for ~$1.32-$1.43/sqft. So once you're looking at buying 4 rolls of Black Magic, it becomes cheaper in every way to just buy a roll of the good stuff off a reseller.

I know it's a year old, but a question regarding the ceramic tint. Previously had my car done with geoshield 35% carbon tint. Looks good inside and out, but wouldn't mind the heat reduction of the ceramic. Would it screw anything up if I'd add a layer of the ceramic of this to the inside? Would it wind up making the carbon tint hazy?

Yea. I’ve gotten great results with cheap film, just make sure it’s film, not the “cling” with the paper roller in between, and comes in a box. Just one thing, when setting the tint, especially black magic, when you set the first part and the top edge and have it line up squegee it and let it sit for ten minutes to dry and adhere. Before rolling it up, to finish setting the bottom and into the seals. Otherwise the tint will crinkle, and will slide all over, so def let it sit and dry before rolling up, also be sure to cut the bottom edge longer to tuck under the seal. Otherwise the cheap tint will catch and curl up. Also you don’t HAVE to shrink it. I never have. I’ve used the Walmart “black magic” brand tint film probably on ten cars
@DevArnold
@DevArnold 2 жыл бұрын
To clarify, make sure your tint comes in the plastic box like he has on this video, not the square cardboard box that “gila” uses, and the the cling comes inside. Also don’t buy the tint kit, just use a pray bottle with bottle water. And five drops of Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo! Just don’t let it sit, more than a day, you’ll get clumps inside the water after it sits for a day
