I really dig your demos. No talking, just straight up fidgeting with the pedal like anyone else would. Well done.

My favorite part is when you go straight into DEMOnstrating it instead of talking about it for a half hour before starting

Almost sounds like "Consoler of the Lonely" in the beginning there.

I also had a question in regards to comparing this to the Emperor from JHS. I noticed when I engaged the emperor it would strongly change my core tone. Either adding a sense of darkness or too much brightness depending on where I put the tone knob. I can never get it to stay fully transparent to the initial signal. Does this pedal also have that going on? Great vid!

Hey love your reviews. In your opinion, what's the most transparent overdrive you've tried so far?
@ryanpaulretouch8 жыл бұрын
I hope you don't mind me chiming in. I'd say the Timmy.

He has a recent vlog on overdrives and says the Timmy is great for transparency

I notice it pops when you turn it on, how bad is that in reality? My old small clone makes a very loud pop when I turn it on, is this a similar sort of thing?

Just got the Julia. I'm noticing bit of clipping when i turn set the lag to high settings. Are you experiencing this? Is it normal?

very nice sounding, but to be honest (it's silly, but it matters to me) the designs of Walrus Pedals don't do anything for me. See, Catalonbread on the otherhand hired a ridiculously good designer for their stuff, and it pays, I'm pretty sure about it.
@KarlSimonOscarFrisk8 жыл бұрын
+Rafi Kirder That's a wonderfully subjective topic. The Walrus Audio artwork has gotten me more worked up than any other on the market. I still go on their site from time to time just to windowshop ;) Let's agree to disagree! :)

+Rafi Kirder Funny, it's the exactly the opposite way imo regarding the designs of Walrus Audio and Catalinbread. Very subjective topic indeed. Optics don't make no sound tho ;)

I agree, they don't do anything for me either, (this one in particular, looks like some chick drowning in need of help, don't need that staring up at me, ha), but at least they've gone for their own unique style. The wampler pedals need help in that regard overall (a couple decent designs), while JHS kills it with their simple designs and branding. Keeley's stuff is looking good lately too. TC electronic is pretty boring. Just some examples. But yeah, if it's a push between two pedals, design can make a difference. There are many phasers out there, for example, but no way in hell would I not have the evh phase 90 with the red stripe graphics on my board!
@telecasper8 жыл бұрын
+Joe Sanders very true. I really think Wampler could sell a lot more woth better design, and I own a bunch of JHS pedals because their overall style is simply fabulous 😜
