23:42 Japan Disneyland still uses the ticket system. Heck you can buy a cheap ticket just so you can go shopping. Or if you are a Grandparent/New Parent buy a ticket so you can just go on the smaller rides with your baby/grandkids.

So glad you went here. When I was a kid I wanted to be an animator at Disney. I could draw really well (still can) and paint, but my teacher told me, "you better study hard and get a real job that pays well" Crushed my dreams.

LOVE the Disney Museum! Did you notice the giant model of Disneyland isn't of any particular era? It has the old Tomorrowland and the old Fantasyland, so you would think it's pre-1983 at least, then you notice the "Flying Saucers" right next to Space Mountain and think "Huh?" Such a cool representation of some of the best attractions at Disneyalnd!

I loved seeing the Re-release of Snow White in theaters as a kid growing up in the 90s, wish they would do that again. Also, I’ve heard that Mickey Mouse’s first line in any cartoon was “hot dog!”
@AJ17_2 жыл бұрын
That is correct! Mickey's first spoken words were indeed "Hot dogs!" in the short "Karnival Kid" in 1929 (he was a hot dog vendor). And Mickey's original voice was done by none other than Walt Disney himself. He was Mickey's voice until 1946 when Jimmy MacDonald took it over (though Walt did do Mickey's voice on the Mickey Mouse Club from 1955-1959).

I remember this place. The huge machine in there is the multi plane camera. It's called that because it shows planes or pieces of glass on there. As a matter of fact, the first Disney cartoon to the machine was The Old Mill. This was followed by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Bambi.

Actually, Walt kind of missed the war because of his age at the time. He wasn’t accepted into the troops that saw battle due to being under the age requirement but he still wanted to fight for America in any way he could so he applied with the Red Cross. Then shipment to France got delayed, so he actually arrived after the fighting had ended and spent much of his time taking historical figures on tours of France in his ambulance and doing cartoons for the guys.

Yeah, the strike was pretty eye opening for Walt. The pay structure amongst his animation team was pretty effed up. Like two animators could be doing the same exact kind of work, like let’s say hand painting the animation cels. Both with the company for the same amount of time, both dang good at what they do, both making their deadlines, but one would be making about $300 a week, while the other dude BARELY just under $15. Walt did NOT want the Screen Cartoonist Guild to be in his company at ALL (again, sounds familiar!), but he eventually had to give in. Artists even had to sign contracts saying that they only worked about 40 hours a week, which was a total lie. They worked SO much more. Walt wasn’t the most pleasant man to work for. ^^ There’s a WHOLE lot more to the story, most of it not too pleasant. Reading up on it, while I still have a bit of respect for the man, it made me realise that he himself is not someone I would ever would have wanted to work for.
