The opening of the Shiki-Sai restaurant at EPCOT was a big announcement for my family. We were lucky enough to be to get an ADR and have lunch there during our last trip. We also got to go on Soarin’ Over California, go through the Journey of Water attraction and my daughter got to meet Moana, Figment, and Asha. She also was able to get the prizes for both the Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit and the Remy Hide & Squeak games (they were all out of the Remy boards, but still had a small handful of the Encanto snack bags left).

Hope y’all had a merry christmas too! It’s so crazy how much life has changed just for the simple fact that we don’t have to watch these disney parks things happen from a far. The ability to pick up and go to a park after work has significantly improved life somehow 😅

We all really enjoyed this 2023 recap!! Our family was so happy when the bear in MK was taken to Ocala National Forest. The Figment meet and greet is so precious and I’m so happy most of the walls have come down in Epcot. It was a great year to be first time pass holders for our family. You did a great job on this Ryan!

It's funny watching this on August 11, 2024 and knowing now the upcoming attractions that was just announced at D23 this year. Cars Land is going behind Big Thunder Mountain instead of at Hollywood Studios. I am glad the space behind Spaceship Earth finally opened, but I prefer the old Innoventions music instead of what they play today. I don't mind the mass seating area, but the music is too loud and just isn't good. As far as night time fireworks at Epcot, Illuminations was the best hands down. Nothing will ever top that. Also the best parade Disney EVER put on was Tapestry Of Nations parade around World Showcase. Nothing will ever top that parade. I wish it was still there. I have the CD of it which also has the Illuminations music on it as well.

I think it was severely oversold! Maybe the creators in attendance were not helping with that. but there seemed to be just as many diehard disney fans looking to try all the new stuff that weren’t holding a camera 🤷‍♂️😅

Chris here. Enjoyed the recap Ryan! Didnt realize so much happened this year. The only thing i dont like is Soarin over California. Why do you think its better? To me it honestly felt like it was recorded with a camera from the 90s. Not only that but the scene cuts were not smooth. They honestly felt like jump scares and the scenes felt extremely shaky... Great video though Ryan and Merry Christmas!

I personally love Soarin over California because of the nostalgia that I have for it and how much my family loved it on our first trip to California adventure in 2004! Also, I feel like the fact that it was actually filmed instead of just CGI like the new one, gives it character, and I’m a bit of a film buff so that also helps 😅
