Been to Walt's several times, over the years. My last visit, 2019, with my elderly Mom was so, so, we agreed not to return in a hurry. However after seeing your experience we may give it another go, well maybe. Your summary was similar to our thoughts and experience.

Yes, our first 2 visits there were great. This past time was a bit of a mixed experience. I'd go back again, but probably not every trip.

You need to try Owens Fish Camp in Sarasota if you have not been.

We've looked at it and talked about it a couple of times. We go to Sarasota every year, so we will be trying it at some point. We are going in a few weeks, so we may try to get it in this trip.

Have y’all been back yet? Do you have family down i. Sarasot or we’re you on vacation ? I thought portions were smal too when I saw your plates.I think everybody’s portions are shrinking when , it comes to seafood especially.

We do not have family in Sarasota. I had an uncle that had lived there a short while in the early 1970s, and when my parents went down to pick him up and bring him home, that is how they found out about the area. My family would go there on vacation pretty much every year, since that time. I have continued to go down there with my wife and children, as well. Now that my children are grown, she and I still go. And yes, we did visit Walt's again, back in July of this year, and we did do a second review.

The price is going up but the quality is going down it's sad but this covid has changed everything sorry you had a bad experience.

It wasn't terrible, but just not as good as the past 2 times. You are correct...Everything has changed. And yes, the prices certainly are going up and the quality is decreasing.

We drove passed it, and it looks like it's being renovated.

Basically what I shared says Pardon our dust while we finish our tiki expansion but we are still open!! Open regular market and restaurant hours the rest of the summer! Come see us today!

Sure we can. We have good quality fish all the time, for far less money. Why do you say we're cheap? We travel quite a bit, and spend quite a bit. Not a very accurate statement on your part. Honestly, it was a silly statement. Are you also upset because I mentioned the fact we didn't get hush puppies, like most other fish places give you, or because I said the portion size should be more in line with what they charge?

Otherwise, you'd realize that you are making some very ridiculous statements. But you totally ignored my question. What is your basis for calling us cheap? Seeing as how we probably spend a lot more money traveling and eating out than you do, I'd like to know what your reasoning is. Would you care to share it this time?

@@TheUltagirl I was wondering if you had a chance to see our recently uploaded review of the Cattleman's Steakhouse? The bill was over $80.00. I thought you might enjoy that one...Since we're so "cheap", and all. I also want to say, that it is VERY "coincidental", that the only 2 people who have attacked us for a review, were BOTH on THIS video. It kind of makes it look like that this is an inside thing that Walt's employees or management are doing. If so, it is not very professional in the least. We pointed out numerous things we liked about the restaurant, and at no time did we say we would not return. Nor did we encourage others not to go there. In fact, the review was overwhelmingly positive. But if the establishment is going to stoop to tactics like this, I promise you that it will only hurt your business.

Sean, I vacation in Manasota key and drive 45 minutes to Walts every nite for top notch seafood, drinks, and service. I have been in the restaurant business for 30 years....I know about quality food and service. There is a reason Walts has been around for 100 years! You get what you pay and if you cant afford the price go elsewhere, but don't downgrade a establishment for charging fair market price to keep there doors open and employing alot of hardworking people. I will be back in flordia April 5.....and at Walts @7pm.

Nobody downgraded them. I guess you both missed the part where I said the hog fish was some of the best I've ever eaten, and that I said we would probably return. I also gave what I believe are improvements that could be made. What I said about my potatoes being half done, was absolutely true. If you don't like that, that's too bad. Because that's the way they were served to me. I don't think either of you actually bothered to even watch the video that you are complaining about.
