You did really well. Good job paying tribute to those poor tortured souls that never had a chance to share their story.

My aunt lived there for a long time. I remember my mother taking us to visit her when we were kids in the 60's. My aunt told us awful stories I won't repeat here. The place looked creepy to me.

Excellent - horrifying and humanizing. My own documentary for public TV, Front Wards, Back Wards looked at the history and its effect on people like Austin. But your taking it to the point where the natural world is reclaiming the abandoned site is powerful. Thanks for it.

Hi Bill, wondering how to view your doc. I run a cemetery dept on the south shore , and stumbled across some records from 1994, stating this school purchased a grave for a student at the school. She has yet to be buried there, she could still be alive. In digging for info the story behind this school is consuming me. Such a sad story. I would love to know more about the cemetery on the grounds. It troubles me that it is so neglected. I hope I can see your doc sometime.

Omg vry vry well done and respectful vid. Thank u so much! B4 anything major happens i think its best 2 acknowledge those who r burried there and salvage anything that can b used 4 historical and teaching purposes. We should nvr forget those wronged by society. Let’s give a voice 2 the voiceless! God bless

I am horrified by what these people did to my own because I’m neurologically impaired and most of my friends would’ve been admitted to this “school” of horrors if they were born in this era.

With such a desperate need for more rehab and mental health facilities, it's disgusting they are letting so much property deteriorate and poison the environment instead.

@@syleniapineiro9933 use your brains people u sound foolish. Horrible things have happened at Bellevue hospital in NY over the years but does that mean Bellevue is an evil and horrible place today? Fernald in its later years was just a simple home for those with special needs. There were no allegations of impropriety in its final years. Why do u think the families wanted it to stay open?

Yo I love this vid and really want some way on to the Fernald School property without trespassing. How did you get permission to make this vid? I would love to know because I have ambitions of making on myself so I can see this awesome historic school, though it has a dark history, because I am an abandoned building explore and this was the first one I went to (I didn't go inside of course). Thanks for your time and your wonderful documentary!

I've tried multiple times with friends. Waltham PD uses drones if infrared cameras along with regular cruisers to heavily patrol the area. I've gone through all of the buildings that hadn't been demolished and some of them are really creepy and sketchy. The high level of security at a dilapidated place like this raises a couple red flags as to why its so heavily guarded. -bury boys-

Figgy and Fin ok thanks man. I think I am gonna be able to help out cleaning up the place so I think someday, when the pandemic passes, I will be able to get in. I know it is so heavily guarded, and even though the Fernald is such a cool place, I’m just gonna wait until I have permission to go in.

@@bestbrosstudios8042 I go there pretty regularly and I only once spoke to a cop who was very nice and just asked that I not break anything or vandalized anything. I haven't ever gotten in trouble and most of the buildings are super sturdy and safe
