Hello :-). Today is Friday August 20, 2021. I am sitting here listening to a record by the wonderful mr. Walter Jackson being played by someone in a building across the street from where I live. Listening to him singing brought back many memories and prompted me to Google one of his phone that I remember and to listen to it, although I have an album of kids of my own. Thank you so much for the documentary on Mr. Walter Jackson who was at that time my heart throb. I still have the album of his with my favorite song of all times that he did entitled 'Feelings'. In the middle sixties I was just in high school. I had two friends that owned a record shop here in the Windy City which I used to stop by their shop everyday after school. When the lady saw me come in whatever record she was playing she would take it off and put on Walter Jackson's 'Feelings' because she knew Walter was my heart throb and that was my favorite record by him. I really miss those day back in the 60s. But I still love all the music from the 60s on up through the 80s and some 90s and I still have quite a few albums from that error, yes albums. Thanks again for the wonderful memories.

Mr. Walter Jackson was truly a singers singer. I met him in Cleveland ,Ohio at the Music Box at 10616 Euclid Ave . He spent 4 great days here. I will never ever forget my conversations with him, in the dressing rooms after the shows. I will never forget the drummer with the house band The Montclair's he wanted to take the drum music home Mr. Jackson said to Jackie Cooper hey man don' get any scramble eggs on that music. It said in a funny way. I will always cherish that memory. R.I.P. Mr. Walter Jackson.

Mr. Walter Jackson! Even now I listen for hours to his recordings--one after the other. Truly a beautiful voice interpreting one song after another with such deep emotion & the man can hold a note forever!! Mr. Walter Jackson gone way too young & never truly recognized for his astonishing talent. Easily one if my top 3--possibly/probably #1.❤️

I enjoyed the piece on Walter Jackson. Unknown to so many, he was one of the best! Along with two others, I once sang impromptu background vocals for him during his performance at Ben’s Hi Chaparell, a once popular bar/nightclub here in Detroit. Just yesterday I Introduced his music to a friend who was listening to what I call the “thin” version (no disrespect) of “Magic Man.” She had never heard of Walter Jackson. When I played his version, she was in awe - as I knew she would be.😄 Anyway, thanks again. Think I’ll have a Walter Jackson day.

There aren't too many artists today that can sing with their natural voice. Without using a falsetto pitch to express the music. Walter... we stayed next door to each other in a terrace apartment on Elmhurst La Salle Gardens in Detroit Michigan back in 1966.....I went on the road. with Motown...that year and I never saw him again. My friend Walter Jackson

I loved Walter Jackson's sound as a small kid in the 60's. His unique voice inspired me to dance. This particular song "Speak Her Name" pulled me in to artistic dance. I was captivated by the romantic sound of his voice even at the age of seven.

I bought a compilations Okeh LP for the Major Lance hits and basically ignored him until I decided to play his songs, I WAS HOOKED! I bought anything I could get my hands on by him! For a guy wanting to do standards, didn't want to sing Curtis Mayfield tunes and dance like a Temptation, he did okay for himself despite his handicap!! FYI his wife Helen was mention on his version of MY SHIP IS COMING IN.

I think Walter Jackson's "A Fool For You" predates Aretha Franklin's version which would be re-titled "Oh Me Oh My (I'm A Fool For You Baby)" which by the way introduced an uncredited Michael Henderson on Bass!
