Walter was and always will be a giant at our club. Managers who win 10 championships and 11 cups don't come along too often. Steven said that his DNA was all over the club. I hope that never goes away because it's not just about his success as a manager. He was a great man as well as a great manager. My sympathy to his wife, sons and grandchildren at this time. With time I hope we name a stand in memory of him, because people like Walter Smith don't come along too often.

Steven Gerrard is a humble human being that's what makes this tribute to Walter Smith here so touching. He, as he said had dinners, coffees and other times probably listening to what he installed in Glasgow Rangers rather than Stevie talking but learning from The Master Sir Walter Smith what Rangers are, and what a person to get that from. Walter we will always remember you and thanks for the special memories you left us with, once a Ranger....we know the rest RIP WALTER SMITH.
