The current "gun community" is enamored with guns like the Walther PPQ that basically have a single action trigger, "great reset" and no safety. These guns are really cool to dry fire, shoot at the range, make KZbin videos about. But honestly, appendix carrying one of these thing out in the real world I think is dangerous. Drawing and actually presenting such a gun in an actual life-and-death situation, where you heart is pounding at like 200 beats a minute - and you've got to decide in a nano second if you're going to shoot or not. No thanks. I'll take a revolver or a gun like the CCP all day long. Long trigger pull, manual safety. Trust me, the last thing you'll be thinking about when it's 3:00 AM and there's an intruder at the end of the hall - is some BS "great reset" ,"match trigger" nonsense.

and good luck remembering to disengage that manual safety under stress with that 200 beat/minute heart rate!

I agree as well. Trigger pulls on new striker fired handguns are ridiculously light and short. Feel much better carrying revolver or da/sa pistol .

I bought the CCP M2 in .380 and like it quite a bit. I will agree that having to pull the slide ALL the way back is quite unusual. Otherwise, I really like it. The trigger is different too. I found that simply pulling the trigger with authority/ intent (not jerking it) vs trying to be slow and accurate works far better. Otherwise I get all caught up in the grittiness of it. Still, I really like it for it's unique features and the ergonomics are second to none for me.

I've had mine for a year and a half and it is just a fine well made pristol. The trigger pull is a bit long, but because of the great overall Walther ergonmics it feels natural and you'll be less likely to end up with an unintended fire. Have tried a number of target and defensive ammo and it has never failed to load, fire, or eject. The fixed barrel makes for better accuracy, and that's the best part. Quality built thoughout leaves me confident that this will work whenever I need it. Extra mags are pricey, but nice to have them. This gun will heat up at the range, but that's expected with the piston design. Most I have have shot at one time is 112 and it was getting pretty warm, but I could have shot more if I wanted to. As a self defense concealed carry weapon, heating up would be a non issue. I have other guns if I wanted to get into several hundred rounds, but that was before the ammo drought. If you can find a range that has one to rent then that would be a great way to decide if this thing is for you. Cleaning it is only a bit more involved than a "normal" 9mm. Buy one of these, enjoy it for years, and then your kid will inherit it as it may last forever.

Good vid. Trying to choose between this pistol and a G43X right now, and while the Glock is a more practical option for me in virtually every detail (I'm more familiar w Glocks, not a fan of manual safeties, the 43X is lighter, optics ready, much greater aftermarket support, etc., etc.), the CCP M2 is just *interesting* and different, and this is a major draw for me. I'm kind of obsessed w this thing. Have owned a PPS in the past in .40 and absolutely loved that gun, though it was much more similar to Glock than the CCP. Still deciding.

Would you recommend this for first time owners??

If he put his thumb lower closer to the magazine release so the magazine can be quickly released and reloaded, he wouldn’t be hitting the slide release. The tension, longer draw distance on the trigger, and felt ticks as the trigger is pulled makes me think of a double action revolver that is not pre-cocked. Also regarding the trigger, one does have to remember that this gun is intended to be a concealed carry pistol just as the name states; when trying to pull the gun from the concealed holster the higher tension and longer trigger draw distance reduces the likelihood of accidentally shooting oneself or an unintended target when drawing the gun.
