It's great to see a major gun maker address the issue of smaller hands. Glad Walther did it as I'm a devout Waltherphile. ;) I have fairly large hands but I like smaller grips as it lets me really hang onto and control a gun. Plus, the grip is the hardest thing to hide. Back in my LEO days I had to qualify a very gifted young rookie who was (is) an excellent cop and a damn fine shot, but she is very petite and our issued pistol was much too large for her hands, requiring her to use an improper grip, taking full .40 recoil on the base of her thumb. I lobbied for her to be issued a different gun. Right after I retired they went to different guns and I understand hers fits her hand much better now.

@@ShamelessPickeryou don’t “need” anything chambered in .40 or .45 lol. 9mm works just as good. I’m a short man myself at 5’0 so it’s so hard finding ANYTHING that fits me well. But if you MUST go .40 I’d recommend the S&W M&P .40C. It’s a “soft” shooting .40 (.40 cal in a compact will never be as soft as 9mm but it’s by far the softest shooting that I’ve shot for the size and caliber) that is reliable and very affordable. I’d still recommend a 9mm for carry tho, especially this F Series Walther. I’m 100000% going to buy one.

Here’s what happened with me and my purchase. Went to the gun store to buy a new handgun to add to the collection. I didn’t go in looking for a Walther or a PDP- F, but I walked out with one. When I saw the PDP lineup I liked what I saw. I could’ve bought a standard PDP. I held a couple different PDP’s, then picked up the 3.5” F Series. I really like how it felt in my hand. I had no idea what F meant and the guy showing me the handgun didn’t tell me what it stood for. So I vacillated back and forth between the 4” PDP and the 3.5” F-Series. I liked the extra capacity of the standard PDP, but loved how the F-Series felt in my hand. I ended up getting the F-Series. About a week later I was watching a KZbin overview of the gun and learned that the F was for female. It took me a week to get over this. Now I just love the gun! It was a great purchase. If I had known about the F and the marketing Walther was doing with it, I probably wouldn’t have purchased it.

My mom has the 4" PDP F-Series and she absolutely loves it. The PDP F-Series is her home defense pistol, primary range pistol, and what she carries on her hip while doing work around the farm. It's her favorite pistol so far because it's much more comfortable in her hands while still feeling almost exactly like my father's 5" full size PDP (trigger, slide serrations, grip texture, optic cuts, etc.). She might even carry it in the winter time when she can get away with concealing it over her Glock 43 (I'm in the process of trying to get her a Shield Plus or P365). Just as a note, if anyone wants to put Walther's Dynamic Performance Trigger on the F-Series it's not compatible. It was disappointing because that makes the PDP's already great trigger significantly better, but my dad ended up trading it to our neighbors.

Couldn’t buy a Beretta 92 when the military first made that switch; I couldn’t even touch the trigger. Also in the 80’s I wanted to love my HK P7M13 but I was pulling the right front corner of that squared off trigger. More recently, I had to give up on my FNS9 and CZ P-07 for this same reason. Solid review. A few factoids: Assembled in USA, this is why you don’t see the Ulm proofing house antler, CIP, and the typical markings seen on P99, PPQ, PDP, etc. Doesn’t mean anything negative or positive, it’s same Ulm Walther quality. Also, there’s a two piece striker assembly, which makes F series’ slide easier to rack. Notice there’s no firing pin lug like on standard PDP. This is why the backplate is slightly different. I’m curious what the two piece assembly looks like. Haven’t seen any renderings, parts diagrams showing how it’s designed. I would love to take my PPQ SC frame internals and put them inside a PDP-F series 3.5” frame. I don’t do red dots and the PPQ SC slide is a little sleeker.

I think your video just sealed the deal on my decision to get a PDP Compact likely the F Series next even though I’m a guy, I have medium hands, and wouldn’t be opposed to having something that my mother could take possession of if necessary as well. She’s familiar with the M&P Shield 9EZ, so I think it would be versatile for multiple users. I was personally concerned about concealed carrying a smaller pistol, and I already have a PPQ M2. I love it, but I find it difficult to convince myself to carry something with such a heavy and bulky profile hardly ever. Most of all, it’s really awesome to hear that there’s so much compatibility with what I already have including magazines, which I didn’t know that until I watched this video. The deciding factor is not only slide compatibility, but mainly the mags since Walther mags are so expensive. Appreciate you review.

I really wanna try out this gun. My husband got me the S&W EZ .380 (only handgun left in gun store in 2020) because his Cz p10c was just way too big, heavy, and impossible to rack for me. Only problem with the EZ is the magazine capacity is only 7+1. The EZ also isn't optics capable. It's an excellent gun though and the EZ did fill a void needed in the gun industry. Walther seems to have taken those concepts and seemed to add the extras that women may want. I'd like to see a comparison video of the PDP-f vs the EZ

Wondering how racking slide compares to the shield ez. I know pdp is going to be harder, but hoping it’s not a lot harder.

The finish is Tenifer not nitride. Also take down can be performed without pulling the trigger by locking the slide to the rear and removing the back plate to remove the striker, then allowing the slide to go forward and using the take down levers to complete disassembly. This is a feature Walther added to meet criteria set by many law enforcement agencies for disassembly.

I have XXL hands, but I don't have long fingers. 1911s and Glocks in particular I can shoot well, but they're awkward. This little darling is somewhere between an M&P 2.0 and a P365 in my hand. The 'sweet spot,' as it were. I like it A LOT!

Just a side note about the S&W EZ guns. I don't know that they're actually aimed at females (I don't keep up with that sort of thing). However, the EZs and the Ruger Security 380 are IDEAL for folks with crippling arthritis. I gave my parents one of each for Christmas because they could no longer rack the slides on the steel frame 40 & 9mm I gave them 35 years ago.

Ladies , take note please - at 6:55 . Most important tip - - don't pull the slide with your weaker hand . Instead , push the frame with your stronger / trigger hand - whilst you hold the slide with your non-trigger hand 👍👍

I just wish it came with night sights. The plastic sights that come with it are the only con I can think of. I loved this firearm when I shot it at my local range, but I did end up spending the extra $100 for the the Sig P365 X-macro.

I have the full sized, 5" 18+1 round. The trigger is no joke. New shooters may need to quickly learn some trigger discipline. Great for target shooting. For concealed carry? Well, my trigger pull is 3.6 lbs. Almost the same as my Ruger Blackhawk. The reset is freakishly quick. Under stress, under assault, I can see errant discharges. Practice and trigger discipline can overcome that.

Glock is around $600-$750 for a stock glock. This Walther or any PDP is worth every penny. This Walther is what glock should be! The PDP has a better trigger, better ergonomics, better slide cuts for racking, better grip, better and cheaper mags (it takes Canik TP9 series magazines). I have 18+2 mags I got only for $10 cheaper than stock Walther mags & +2. The Walther is lighter as well. It's better than a stock Glock & around the same price. #FACTS
@Ohio_Motonaut
@Ohio_Motonaut 2 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewMartinez1776Redux Not here to argue about value or anything like that. I'm sure the Walther is the better choice but in my experience, the folks this is geared towards don't want to spend that much on a carry or home defense firearm. And Glocks are $499 and up, at least at my local gun store. Not sure where you're getting your numbers.
