You do not need to pull off the backstrap to get the slide off! And what you said is ridiculous anyway, "to disarm the pistol..." It's already unloaded!

I picked this up at Tanners Guns/Sports ,Jamison, Pa. brand new for $325. They sold it cheap because of the paddle style mag release. I have no problem with this type of mag release. My most comfortable gun.

I've grown to truly enjoy this mag release, for me it literally feels second nature.

I got dressed today and I reached inside the safe for a handgun. The P250 subcompact leaves my pinky dangling, so I grabbed a bersa thunder uc still in 40 s&w, 28 oz loaded and thought that I need a thin handgun. I went out with a P238 and after meeting my son, we stopped at the local gun store. And there it was. Thin in 40 s&w, new and under $400. I took a long time to tell you: I just bought one!!! Very nice. Have not fired it yet, but I expect it to be as accurate as the rest of my guns. This is the only striker fired I own at this time, but the lack of DA will not be an issue...

Can also get mags with the extended floor plate/backstrap if you're used to a larger grip.

This has been my everyday carry for about 4 years now. I carry it in my right front pocket, in a pocket holster, and nothing else in that pocket. Also remember that all pants pockets are different. You put on your pants... you've got your weapon. Also this weapon shoots fine out to 200 meters... I've done it repeatedly at my outdoor range.

Nice review. I picked mine up today. I was going to get the PPS 9mm M2 put this one was $60 cheaper. I also like the paddle magazine release.

ThI have the M1 myself. Great pistol. The grip benefits from a grip sleeve if you have skinny fingers like I do. I put a Hogue Hand-all Jr. on it and it feels great. Also my trigger was a little creepy/gritty, so I polished the trigger bar, slide safety plunger and bore, and the striker sear and lug and now the trigger is smooth as silk. Finally I ordered some tritium vials and set them in the stock steel sight. Perfect carry pistol now.

Yea you wanna pull the slide back just a hair before you pull down those takedown tabs, that's why it's taking a little extra effort. I have the 9mm great gun, very impressed with the build quality on these.

Can you buy a factory 9mm barrel and mags for this gun to interchange caliber (like you can with the M&P Shield)??
@MayorFuglycools8 жыл бұрын
No, the 9mm barrel will not work in this model from what I have heard. Some have tried this, and supposedly the breech face is too large for reliable loading, and of course head space issues. Mayor Fuglycool

Nice vid. Thinking of getting this myself. Just curious as to how the recoil is on this gun along with shot resets. Thanks!
@MayorFuglycools10 жыл бұрын
Recoil is pretty stout, but it is manageable with 160 grain .40 ammunition. 180 grain is a kicker, but is still controllable. Mayor Fuglycool

After seeing the new P365, it looks like Walther and the rest need to step up their game. I still love my PPS, but I'm not turing my back on an extra 3 rounds of ammo in the same form factor.

Like you wrote, the NEW P365... the PPS came out in '07. But my full size is a SIG. Love 'em both.

+Mayor Fuglycool I can look for it. They were posted on a blog someplace I real while researching this pistol. Walther reportedly blamed the ammo. It wasn't pretty...the photos. If memory serves, they were saying the metal surrounding the base of the cartridge was too thin.
@MayorFuglycools9 жыл бұрын
Richard Smith I have had a bad 40 before in my PPS. The pistol kicked really hard, but the barrel did not crack, and slide did not take damage. 40 cal shell had primer blow out. Did have to send to Walther to make sure pistol was ok, they replaced some springs for me for free, and sent it back in a week. Mayor Fuglycool

+Mayor Fuglycool I finally handled a PPS earlier this evening but it won't work in my hand. Or rather I can't work the mag release. My big hand prevents the mag from coming out. I carry a PPQ M2 40 every day and thought this PPS would be a nice alternative for IWB carry. My research continues. On another note, the P99c is amazing fit in my hand.

+Richard Smith and it was the barrel that split. The slide just ended up tweeked and derailed big time.
