Thank you for the skate board tape technique. I have used “ Gaffer tape” for my tar paper and sometimes Industrial roofing. This stuff is very much like tar and gravel roofing. Bravo! New idea!

See, now I always thought "3M" stood for Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing, thanks for clearing that up Mark. Great job on the building, I like the weathering - just enough that it doesn't look run-down, but used. Nice recovery on the paint bleed - would never know. Maybe next time you should use 3M tape. The roof looks great but a little new. Maybe a light spray of a light gray to sun-bleach it. Looking forward to the rest of the 3M Industrial Area! Great interview with Big Bill last night - I enjoyed it. Best, John

Thanks John! I totally missed an opportunity there because I DID use 3M tape. Haha. I also used 3M wall strips to hang my backdrop. Thanks for the roof tip, I’ll look into that.

So much for Cyanamid being in the family for a long time. Very realistic weathered build, Mark. Find yourself a tree, park your car under it with the building sitting on top, the birds will take care of the rest... Instant weathering. 🤣 Roof looks so real - - gonna file that away for future use. Thanks for sharing. 👍 👍 👍 P. S. You did great on Model Railroading Live!

Nicely done on the 3M building. In future to save yourself some cash as board deck tape can be expansive. Use black sand paper sheets for the same effect and just stick or white glue it to the roof panel. I feel bad for that kid he got hosed out of family business. 🤪🤣

Awesome build Mark!! The building looks awesome. I’ve seen where you can “gunk” up black paint to simulate patches in the roof. Where there may have been some repairs. You could dilute some white paint and spray the roof with that to tone done the bright new black roof. Hope these ideas can be of good use and keep up the good work!! - Will

Ha! Thanks Kaustav. I did use their wall strips in my last video and their blue tape in this one. They do owe me... I’ll think about it. And if I’m being honest, I bought the N scale lights because they were sold out of the HO ones. ;) They look good though!
@TrainsandDioramas4 жыл бұрын
M&M Rails yes, most N scale stuff are actually true to scale for HO. I’m giving N scale couplers a serious consideration for my HO models. Kadee HO couplers are for O Scale in my eyes! Cheers!
