Since I am 72 years old I remember the times that my family traveled from Los Angeles California to Cleveland Ohio by train in the early 1960s. On the part of the trip from Los Angeles to Chicago our family road on the Santa Fe El Capitan with the Hi-Level cars. These railroad passenger cars by Santa Fe have disappeared into the past.

It's a beautiful train. Almost makes up for those time period inaccuracies in the layout.

Your tinted cars look fabulous! I wonder why Walthers didn't do that for all the El Capitan cars? Walthers' Amtrak Superliners are tinted.

Nice to see the Sky Lounge (which would become Amtrak's Pacific Parlor cars before being retired by 2020) in HO scale. I very much miss the real thing.

I plan to save up my money to get all the cars that made up the Super Chief.

The tooling on the cars and engines look great, but Walthers swung and missed with that dark red on the warbonnet. WAY too dark. Should have alot more orange in it.
