This song makes me tear up a bit, so beautiful. I can hear the violins and cellos and basses playing together with each note, even if they aren’t there. I usually hear this song on violins, from the RMS Titanic’s band, both ways it is absolutely delightful to listen to.

This makes me think of socializing in the 1st Class lounge aboard the RMS Lusitania, or some other large and elegant steamship. Plowing, nay, *slicing* it’s way through the slate-gray waves of the Atlantic, trying to get it’s passengers across the pond on schedule. The cold of the sea and overcast sky being kept back by the cozy, regal atmosphere of soft chatter, faint whiffs of cigar smoke, and those hand-carved mahogany panels, elaborate plaster ceilings, the floral carpet patterns, the wall-torch lights, the two large fireplaces at either end of the room, and that massive, elegantly decorated, half-barrel skylight... *...Oh, how i long for those open waters of that chilly North Atlantic...*

Tout ce qui peut détendre est excellent. La musique a ce pouvoir de régénération.

One of Joyce's finest waltzes. was this from an opera he wrote? or just as a separate song

I am VERY late to respond, but I’m pretty sure it was part of a collection of ‘Salome pieces’ by Archibald Joyce, it included Passing of Salome, Remembrance of Salome, Vision of Salome, Dreaming of Salome, and Reincarnation of Salome.
