Nah, I can absolutely hear it. I'm listening to the clip from the Muppet Movie right now, and Jim Henson *absolutely* had a bit of a nasal quality to his Kermit voice.

@@justineberlein5916 There's just a certain element that's missing, which is also missing from his Kermit, which (incidentally) is missing from every Kermit who isn't Jim Henson. Kermit is half timid voice, half slightly nasally throat voice, always with his unique, slightly dopey accent. You've gotta strike the right balance, occasionally swapping between the two voices to really nail it, and you gotta project more than you think- even at the quiet parts. But when I say he could beat some of the modern voices, I mean it! It's GOOD. I just happen to be a *HUUUGE* Jim Henson Fanboi. I've seen works of his most people have never even heard of, and I can tell if it'll be Jim's Kermit just by looking at the video quality by now. I can even tell if a character will be Jim by looking at the character design, and which voice of his would be used. I can tell because it's ENGRAINED INTO MY SOUL, but I doubt most people could really. I can tell his Kermit is Kermit. But it would never even occur to me that his Waluigi sounds like that.

I want to point something out for everyone here: If you ever listen to interviews with Jim Henson, when he speaks in his natural voice instead of voicing a character, you'll notice how distinctive his voice is. He has a tenor voice, and he's very soft-spoken, but the thing that makes his voice so recognizable is that he projects from the back of his throat. From my time practicing in choirs, I've learned that most people don't naturally do that, but it's something that choir directors encouraged us to do when singing, because it helps your voice to "ring out;" your voice has a nicer quality and is more expressive than it is when your throat is relatively slack. Kermit the Frog's voice is recognizable because it's so much like Jim's real voice, only a little higher and more energized. Well, if you listen to Matthew speak in any of these videos, you'll notice his speaking voice is surprisingly similar to Jim Henson's; and Matthew's process of making the Waluigi voice --- a little higher, a little more nasal, a bit of an accent, and more energized --- is quite similar to Jim creating his voice for Kermit. Personally, I don't see the 1:1 comparison to Waluigi sounding like Kermit, but I think I understand where people are coming from. Ah, at least it all resulted in this video. This song, and especially these images all make me laugh.

Don't forget the nasality. I'm listening to the clip from the Muppet Movie right now, and there's *absolutely* a similar nasal quality to the voices EDIT: Like if I had to attempt the two voices myself, the difference would probably be Kermit's voice being further back in my throat

I can safely say I've never once thought about Waluigi and Kermit at the same time but now that I have it seems so perfect. Waluigu is such a lonely yet egotostical character, an outcast and an eccentric, but an artist, who flourishes roses and meticulously grooms his mustache and clads himself in signature purple garb. And Kermit? Kermit is a manager of artists, a juggler of personalities. Kermit has aided more performers than the average person has met people. He could not only handle Waluigi, but make him shine as a starstudded diamond.

I think what they're trying to convey, even if they don't realize it, is that your voice sounds like a Muppets version of Martinet's original Waluigi voice; that is, an affectionate parody that focuses on comedic effect more than pitch-perfect accuracy. Just last week I was talking with some friends about imitating Muppet's characters and that transitioned to imitating Mario characters.
