Yeah, it's pretty obvious that these songs count as transformative works, but the corporations who own the copyrights of the original songs will still sue, because the potential profits if they win vastly outweigh the losses if they lose - and (especially because this is just one guy who would be facing multiple corporations with vastly more wealth than him) there's no guarantee they'll lose. Our legal system is heavily biased towards the party with the most money - if you can keep delaying, appealing, and filing motions, you rack up your opponent's legal bill to the point that they can't keep fighting.

You have a serious talent, and it’s a shame that the algorithm doesn’t give you as much exposure as you deserve. My hope is that, even if it’s not with as much time and investment, Waluigi Time will still strike when you’re so moved. Even if it’s just in the form of a random drawing for April Fools or something like that. Sometimes what we get best-known for isn’t something we seek out to do, like Alex Navarro reviewing Big Rigs or Alexey Pajitnov messing around making a puzzle game in his down-time. I still think Nintendo should, though I doubt they will, bring you in as a character consultant on a Wario Ware-inspired game where Waluigi jumps to a bunch of different Nintendo games to mess things up, like that one set of comics leading up to Smash for. One can dream, right?

It's hard to believe that Brawl in the Family started about half of my life ago, I still remember finding it on the Nsider2 forums (after Nintendo abruptly shut down their official Nsider forums). There were so many great web comics and artists on there back in the day, and at least two of them (you, and ArtsyOmni from Curiomatic who used to do the Kirby brawl hat photoshops) have gone on to work on their own games.

I miss BitF so much. It was such an integral part to my teen years, and whilst it's still available to watch, I miss the regular updates. I'm not angry, just nostalgic. Brawl in the Family was one of if not the first things I discovered when I was exploring the internet for the first time. I was looking up Pikmin memes and found it one of the strips and from there the whole page. I binged it from begining to what was at the time the most recent stripover the course of a few weeks, then did it again. I kept reading each week as new strips came out, even checking on my friends family computer when I'd go over to his place. My heart broke a little when the comic came to an end, but I was happy to see ot go out on its own terms. Thank you for everything.
