Hot take, shooting a tiny version of yourself from your hoof is how centaurs reproduce. But the tiny versions are just haploid cells, so in order for the tiny-taur to become a full centaurs, it needs to be recombined with at least one other tiny-taur. This is usually accomplished via DBZ/SU style fusion dance being preformed prior to the expulsion of the tiny version.

What you said about how magic works really made me think of one of the shaman you didn’t mention, Johnny Teatime. Johnny Teatime has green, ominous fire like magic, which represents he truly Isn’t as cute as other see him, in the context of the show, simply covering up the pain of the war with daily pageants isn’t really the best move, since it is making things worse, seeing how competing and catty (get it!) the competitors get. However, I would not call him a monster, seeing how he seems to promote true self, since he was going to declare Horse the winner after she was being her true self, until Comfortable Doug came in, who didn’t even try to hide his true self. Granted this seems a little hypocritical, since he himself seems superficial, hiding his true power only to make himself look cuter, even to the point where he allowed Horse to baby him, but that’s besides the point. I actually hope we see more of him in the future to see if any of his other spells reflects his cuter side. This goes for all the shamans since, with the exception of Waterbaby and the Twin Tree Shamans, we don’t see them perform that much magic. Whaletaur shaman just ate people, Johnny’s busy being in a cup, and Judge Jacket banned magic because their is no magic in prison. It’s prison.

Joke Answer: Judge Jacket banned Magic because the O is silent Story Answer: My first impression was Judge Jacket banned magic because of it’s use in the war, and therefore sees how dangerous it can be, so punishing anyone who uses it. This is backed up by Gary’s skeleton being human, showing the moletaur prison was operating the way it was even when the worlds were united. Story Answer 2: Judge Jacket simply says magic is banned as a test. If anyone does perform magic, like Horse did, it means they know that magic is apart of them, as Judge Jacket states. The only reason she has a 100% conviction rate is because no one passed her test, not performing magic in the hopes of being innocent by following her rule.

I would love an updated analyses of magic in centaurworld now that season 2 is out and a lot more of the world has been explored. I would even say the art styles in centaurworld add to the theme comfortable with the self. It would explain why (spoilers) Riders hair changes in centaurworld when she stays there with Horse but the Mysterious Woman doesn't change at all. And why Elktaur was drawn in the human worlds style even though he's from centaurworld. This show has so much thought put into it I love it!

So, your video brought something I hadn't considered to my attention. And since it was your video that made me realize it, I think it's only fitting I write it here. So, you mentioned that Wammawink is meant to fill the role of the sixth shaman and there are six pieces to the key. It just dawned on me; that is why it brought Horse to the herd. It was returning to the 'Sixth Shaman,' Wammawink. But there's more: consider how it was that intense desire to protect and save that activated the key piece. Horse wanted to protect Rider and vice versa, and that activated the innate power of the key. But what can the other key pieces do? And now that they're assembled into the Staff, what can IT do?

I really feel like the show both did her dirty by discluding a fan-club for her, but at the same time utilized that as an opportunity for character development. I adore Wammawink. I think she's an amazing character. I still think episode 3 is about as ground breaking as episode 8 just because of how differently they approach her problems. Also as for the magic banning, I have a really far fetched theory that it relates in some way to the cattaurs, and more specifically Johnny tea time. One of the First thing that she yelled was if they were spies. Making me think the reason why they are so uptight is because in the past centaurs (who I think may have been working for the Nowhere King) used to try and enter into the moletaur realm using magic. Also why they are so anti outsider because it reached a point where EVERYONE was the enemy. If there is no magic, there is no danger, everyone is on the same level, it's near impossible to be infiltrated by the enemy. I think this relates to Johnny tea time because of all the Shamans the only one who has shown outward violence with their magic has been Johnny, and he is shown to have at least some connection to the nowhere king. THe cattaurs seemed all too happy to talk about him (as the planttaurs do too) During the war, some taurs may have betrayed the other centaurs, and thus the mole taurs became incredibly isolationist as it was the only way they could stay at least 90% safe.

The nowhere king and the blue haired human have no meaningful appearence in the show and they feel like last minute additions after all the story was already done. This is why the NK is only mentioned in songs that have no bearing on the story and the blue haired human does absolutely nothing to interfere with the protagonists throughout the show. If you completele removed the bits about the king and the part when human shows up the story wouldn't change a bit. This is why I feel it was a last minute addition. The final confrontation has no connection to the story we were following. Only the blue haired human has some sort of history with the villain and it actually means something for her to confront him but since we don't know what's going on and we don't even know anything about her - we can't give a damn. It looks like the ending was very hastily changed to make way for a second season. The climax of this season should be about the main characters, not about a generic villain and a character that had like few seconds of screentime. The fact is, this show didn't even need this villain because there already is a war going on. No need to introduce another threat since this one was already established. Also, how Rider reaches the rift in the very same time as Horse is very contrived. I was sure this was a trap or illusion. As much as I love the show the last two episodes are a complete mess that derails the whole plot.

Also, just throwing this out there, but if you examine this as a classic "Hero with One Thousand Faces" Joseph Campbell Heroic Epic, and let's say compare it in structure to the Lord of the Rings.... Horse/Rider are the Frodo/Sam/Ring dynamic, Waterbaby is Gandalf (natch), and Wammawink is the Aragorn-figure. A scorned, orphaned child of a once great people, destined for power and leadership, afraid of their own potential and the responsibility it involves, has vast history with tons of characters way before the start of the series, is a protector of their people? You cite Frank L. Baum's version of Glenda, but the Musical "Wicked" is based solidly on Gregory McGuire's "Wicked: The Life & Times Of The Wicked Witch Of The West." How would you compare Wammawink to that interpretation of the character? So far I've only read the first of McGuire's "Wicked Years" trilogy, in which he goes on to explore Ephabla's, (AKA The Wicked Witch Of The West) son in "Son Of A Witch," The Cowardly Lion in "A Lion Amongst Men," then finally Dorothy herself in "Out Of Oz." I'd say McGuire's Ephabla is certainly an example of a character who discovers what can happen to an individual who questions authority but she learns to live with how she is villainized by the genocidal tyrant ruling from Oz, while still dealing with their own real moral failings & the guilt from those. In McGuire's version of Oz the Wizard has decided to eliminate the Talking Animals, first passing laws that they couldn't hold certain jobs like educators, & then moving them into segregated ghettos, you see where McGuire is CLEARLY hinting this goes. Ephabla ends up being part of the resistance against the Wizard, & runs into a moral conundrum where she has a chance to kill off a major lutenent of the Wizard but it would also cost the lives of innocents & she ends up not doing it but wrestling with the moral implications of NOT doing it. As far as her personal issues she falls in love with a classmate, a very married classmate who was betrothed & married to an arranged spouse before they met, that's where her son came from & how she got the castle. Still how does one deal with the betrayal that tis still was? I hear the Musical version of Wicked took out the Freedom Fighter element from the plot, but it would be worth exploring the versions of The Witches Of Oz from the more modern text.
