All of KZbin is thirsting over the latest camera... just get yourself a t3i and watch this channel. If you master lighting and exposure the limitations of your gear, the need for all the extra latitude practically evaporates. Get a cinema camera with these skills and you’re unstoppable. As casual and funny as you are knowledgeable. Incredible content. This should be in the top 3 channels for aspiring filmmakers.

I love your videos. I started taking videography and photography seriously this past year and for months KZbin kept throwing hacky "be a filmmaker in 20 minutes!" videos at me that never went deeper than reiterating the exposure triangle for the thousandth time. Finally KZbin blessed me by putting you in my recs and I feel like I'm drinking from a firehose now.

9:20 Can't you just wrap some thick diffusion paper around the bulb to get it down a stop or two? Or some ND gel? Seems like a pretty easy fix for me. And dimmers are like what, 10 bucks? Seems weird to me that an ad of this level doesn't have the gear to bring down that little practical.

you are assuming there are any F’s on set to be handed out during that scene. My experience would say the contrary

Best educational videos coming from you. Thanks a lot. I didn't undestand in the lady shot when you said "this is downstage lighting" in relation with her sight direction. I thought up and down were mesured in relation with the camera and the background. I'm wrong?

@@wanderingdp The horizon line? From subject to horizon is upstage and from subject to "us" would be downstage? It was the way I used to understand it when you say it, but I understand in this one you make a difference in relation with the direction of the sight and I felt lose... Thanks for taking the time for answering, is too kind from you 🙏

If that window is being used to key the actor, that would not only control the level outside but also get him less light too. It would ended up being the same that just expose for the outside .. and more time consuming, no?
