Two JBL Charge 5 Or JBL Xtreme 3 - WHICH SHOULD YOU BUY?

I have two charge 5's and a xtreme 3. Just depends on what you got going on. I sometimes connect the two charges and put them on stereo mode and put them on opposite corners of a room. The xtreme 3 is nice, but there's really nothing special about it in my opinion. Yeah it has a nice carrying strap, but I personally don't like having a bulky speaker on my waste when I'm walking. I like the fact that I can just grab one or both of my charges and throw them in my backpack whenever I need. One charge outplays the xtreme in the highs and mids easily. Yeah the xtreme has deep bass and all that, but I feel like a single charge 5 actually meets my expectations and more for it's size, as where with the xtreme I was kinda disappointed ngl. The charges are also way louder and in a blindfolded test, some of my friends actually thought that the charge 5 was the xtreme 3 because the bass didn't even clip out the louder it got and stayed consistant for the most part. As where the xtreme got to a certain point and the bass wasn't really too impressive. But this just my opinion, it's a great speaker, and I highly recommend it. But just not for me personally.

I agree with your Recommendation. I have 2 5s and putting them on either end of my deck or basement with the JBL ap for true stereo, you cant beat it.

I have 2 jbl flip 6 and listen to them in stereo mode, but now I need more bass and have decided to buy a new speaker and use it in partyboost beside my 2 flip 6 for outdoor use. What do you suggest ? Buying charge 5 or xtreme 3 ? Since I heard that xtreme 3 is only 50W rms instead of 100W when it has not plugged, I was a little disappointed about it! Another question, Is the loudness and bass of jbl xtereme 3 alone more than two jbl flip 6 in partyboost for ourdoor use?

I recently purchased the JBL Flip6 for $100 and the JBL Xtreme3 for $250 both from BestBuy!! I feel like the Xtreme3 is not as extreme as it should be, I was kind of disappointed with it....maybe 2 Charge 5's would have been a more pleasing sound? But the JBL Flip6 on the other hand is an amazing speaker for such its small size!!

Jbl charge 5 red it’s just great and no need to take out a loan for a 350$ speaker yes I see they go on sale once and a while but if I’m being honest I don’t need such a big sized speaker and the jbl xterme 3 is like charge 5 but just bigger and more bass and louder sound better battery but the charge 5 is loud enough for most task and for the price right now 120$ Black Friday deal is perfect deal!

i have 2 charge 5's but im looking to add the extreme 3 with them. everytime i put my 2 charge 5s in stereo mode and put them on both sides of the room they squeak screetch and all type of stuff. move them closer together and they stop audio screech. idk it sucks because thats why i bought 2 C5s to do stereo to fill up a room but the audio is terrible when both speakers are separate. idk

2 charge can outsmart the xtreme in volume, but not in sound quality, charge lacks of deep bass losing its base, sounding like it is, a small speaker, plus the battery issues which life is shortened because the effort of making it louder, xtreme has everything in balance, a good equalization curve starting from 50hz making it sounds like a bookshelf mini hifi, a decent battery plus the fast charging, not so big and it can be carried by the strap, double charging ports, all three connectors protected by lid, detailed high and mids and a very measured bass, with such sound quality it worths every dollar spent in it

place two charge 5s in the corner of the opposite side of the room and your base is dramatically increased, you have a wide sound stage and it balances out the over powering mids and highs. At that point there is literally nothing the xtreme 3 does better

I own red Charge 5. Generally I am happy with how does it sound. Except three details: JBL tends to reduce bass as you volume up, which sucks, because at some point it will sound bad on some songs. They lie about 22 hours of battery life. Who listens this at 1% volume? This is marketed as portable party speaker, and they even boast about charging a phone. So they should have been more honest about real usage battery life which is between 6-10 hours. Another thing is that went cheap on rubber foot at the bottom. The feet is so small that this speaker gets easily tipped off, which makes it not usable on wobbly tables or chairs, or for boats. I saw one rolled off and dropped from the table because someone bumped it by accident.

I have the extreme 3 and charge 5. I think the Xtreme 3 is better because its easier to carry around than charge. The charge 5 is a pain to carry around. The only good thing about it is that the battery life is up to 20 hours. The extreme has only 15 hours. Another reason why I like extreme better is because it goes louder and has deeper bass. Over all I think there both worth it. But if your looking for a speaker for on the go, I would definitely go with the extreme 3.

I got a brand-new xtreme3 for only 260$. 🤣 So happy it was on sale. And for correction, I have used my xtreme 3 for 80% volume straight 8 hours and it still has battery.. and when watching with netflix for straight 13 hours at 80% volume, it still has like 25% left battery. Conclusion is that it has better battery life than charge 5 coz when using c5 at 80%, it only last for 6-8 hours. Unlike with xtreme it could last for 80% volume with maximun 8-9 hours. Plus the fact that 80% xtreme has more bass and louder than 80%volume C5. Lastly, the sound stage of xtreme3 is really better compared to C5, like literally. Probably because it's stereo and C5 is only mono

I feel it bud thanks for dropping that 👍🏾 but for the charge 5 I use it at work between 70-100% from 6:30-3:30 when I first got it. charge 5 never died and for the most part seemed to be just under half and thats with songs no podcast or shows just music. Now a days I don’t be at work that long and all I listen is podcasts on it 😂

Sing for me the two speakers are better because then you have stereo sound this music was meant to bounce from each speaker not just play from one speaker I grew up with high-end audio equipment in nothing beats stereo sound play single speakers are just mono sound

I know the charge 5 claims to do 20 hour battery life but I'm going to have to disagree at full blast and the party boots on I work to 8 hour shift at work I remember I played it my whole 8-hour shift it was dead when I left I had to charge it I also had it at full blast for 8 hours I got to admit though I was jamming the whole shift and again that's the charge 5 I'm talking about I'm not sure about the extreme 3 I'm still learning it

I think it's rated 20hrs at 60% or 50%. 8hr at full blast will be more than enough for most people.

Nope. Xtreme 3 is not loud enough for outdoors unless you are close. I bought Boombox 3 and it is perfect for outdoor activities and small parties

Yeah I’m trying to get my hands on that speaker so bad everyone seems to love it. I know the X3 was a joke at the price it first came out at $400 for what your getting is not right. I know JBL Fan boys will try to Defend but it wasn’t worth it. At the time the UE hyperboom was the same price and it kills the Xtreme 3 and looks better with 360 sound and crazy bass. Might as well pay $100 more and get the JBL BoomBox2 if your paid $400 for the X3. But I like it for the $245 refurbished price
