Kenji Yamamoto is still one of my favorite composers. For the longest time, I've only known him for making music for the Metroid/Metroid Prime Saga. I didn't know he made music for the DBZ old games. There is one controversy that I have for years since Dragon Ball Super began and before the Tournament of Power arc is Goku and Vegeta hogging over the spotlight. The Z Fighters had been sidelined and Gohan was getting weaker instead of embracing his potential. He, along with Piccolo, Krillin, Roshi, Tien, and Piccolo, to bea prominent character again They can’t keep relying on the two Saiyans to fight their own battles.

Super's "rough start" lasted until the last episode. Roshi did nothing wrong. The complainers need to shut up and keep out of the scene. GT's American rap intro was the only good thing about GT in general. Evolution should be forgotten. Evolution as Dragon Ball Z is the same as saying the Tristar Godzilla movie was a Godzilla movie. The latter was obviously enjoyable though. Dubbing issues can be fixed by just not dubbing. People need to learn how to read subtitles.

Two controversies that wasn’t included: - the gratuitous nudity. Even though nudity was commonplace in Dragon Ball, much less in Japanese mangas and animes, prior to 2000, something like that would never air in Western territories, and if it did, it’d be heavily censored. Even worse was the age of the characters, particularly Goku and Bulma, when nudity was shown. At least by the time the “Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!” special streamed online in 2008, gratuitous nudity in Dragon Ball was a thing of the past. - Yamcha got “Yamcha’d.” Tōru Furuya has been the Japanese voice actor of Yamcha since the original Dragon Ball anime debuted back in 1986. Despite being relegated to being the punching bag and gag character, Yamcha kept on going, as did Furuya. However, in May of this year, Furuya went on X (formerly Twitter) to issue a public apology , confirming a report about an interview with a magazine regarding a 4.5 year extramarital affair he had with a female fan 37 years younger than him in which during that time until September 2023, he physically abused her and forced her to get an abortion. As a result of the controversy, he either was dropped from numerous projects or resigned, and the role of Yamcha being recast for Dragon Ball DAIMA. His final voice acting role as Yamcha is in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

I am so glad I got to experience Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and even Dragon Ball GT in the Latin American/Spanish subs. Even the intro and outro song sound really familiar to the original Japanese audio. And watching the Frieza saga in sleep over like manner, with a big group of friends has being an amazing experience growing up.
