I absolutely agree with that opening. This car is way cooler than any sports car. Owner knows his car!!! Awesome video. I wish it was longer. Cheers

The owner’s manual says to do that to rinse out the frame! Just kidding. I have a 1966 S2A. Highway speeds? Maybe 63 mph with my foot to the floor, and at that point both the Landy and I are loosing control of our bowels!😳 But it oozes character,( as well as other fluids) and I love these things. I’m told that it is very loud inside, but I can’t hear it over my giggling.😂🤣 Someone once said, “ Nothing in life is worth half as much doing as messing around in boats”. I believe the same thing can be said about old Land Rovers! Cheers!👍

A friends parents had the long wheel based version of about the same age and i always remember traveling into Coventry about 15 miles in winter with the feeling that you were in a tin shed with people beating on the walls .., it did not help that you could not see anything for the condensation on the windows ...

@@robertwoodliff5622 Haha ! Perfect analogy! Yes it’s a rattly tin shed on wheels.👌 Technically aluminum. I’m sure many have been retired to become chicken coops.🤦🏼♂️

That was very interesting. The unplanned ditching in the stream added a bit of drama. Good job. Quality narrative and video.

Great little video. I believe they had to widen the headlamp distance to meet US regs? I have a Series 2a 109 truck, and felt for you in that water situation! I have had similar but luckily part of a convoy and winches helped me out...😂

I had a 64 and it was my first Series. Now I have a 70 S2A and it has replaced my Porsches for pure fun. I used to really enjoy em fast but now I love my Landy….at 45 MPH.

The bug eye definitely gets all the character roles in Landrover films, but they’re very collectable now.

Wow..series 2a Bug eye? Awesome..

He did not explain the Yellow and Red levers. Very few people know how to use those correctly. One of the most useful accessories to fit a LR, next to the o/drive unit, is a skid plate which it has not from factory. Without one the gearbox x-member tends to get all the bangs in serious off-roading and gets gouged.

F929EGT was originally RED, its UK registration, Colour Red: Fuel type: Diesel Date registered: 6 December 1988 (this is the date of first regulation for civilian road use, probably used in defence fire engine duties and then released for civil use in 1980's) MOT expired on 1 October 2015

Being a left hand drive US model I suspect a uk plate has been put for 'fun' and not originally UK registered. Should really have a G or H suffix. Looking at the DVLA website, F929 EGT is a 2.5 diesel, so thats likely to be a Defender not a Series 2a, especially when you look at the revenue weight of 3050kg.
