So much of what this patient said really resonated with myself. My GP has labelled me a hypochondriac and I had to fight for a referral to a rheumatologist despite being in so much pain with a positive ANA. He told me I’m absolutely fine and it’s anxiety. I said I’ve had anxiety nearly all my life and I know these symptoms are not apart of anxiety. This is different. It’s very different. I went to see a rheumatologist and he dismissed me. I asked for a second opinion and got diagnosed with RA. It took nearly 2 years to see a rheumatologist and get a diagnosis. Now I have a great team. I love my rheumatologist and my nurse. You’ve really got to advocate for yourself. If you believe something is wrong like truly feel like something is wrong keep pushing and don’t ever feel like you’re being a nuisance or a hypochondriac. It was exhausting getting a good rheumatologist and a diagnosis. I’ve had cancer when I was 22 and I’ve had a harder time dealing with this than I did with cancer! I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

My husband 51 years old has signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and the doctor didn’t do any blood test. The Dr did X-rays and diagnosed him elbow tendinitis. His pain was very severely when he first woke up in the morning and it would get better gradually with movements. Now he is on Meloxicam and physical therapy. I wish they did a blood test to get an accurate diagnosis.

@yennguyen-uj3ri Dont give up. They did this to me. I have been to sports medicine doctors, orthopedic specialist and so on. After I had my daughter I got really sick. I went from docto to doctor and one wrote in my chart I was just trying to get pain meds. They sent me to a surgeon and it was my gallbladder. They removed it and I felt better GI wise but I had pain in my hips and knee. They would just pass me around. Well 5 years later I am about 8 months pregnant with my son. By this time I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. One day while visiting my mother my hand swelled up and the pain was so bad all I could do is cry and scream help me! The swelling finally went down and I had my son which was very scary. A few months postpartum I woke up to the most painful feeling in mt feet. I couldn't walk. Every step felt like someone broke my feet with a sledgehammer. My doctor referred me to a rheumatologist and he did a huge blood draw and I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. I was so relieved because someone finally listened to me. I was started on treatment and the first treatment didn't really work but the Humira injections did. But unfortunately I lost my insurance so I have progressed. Soon my insurance will be back. But please get your husband into the rheumatologist. I am sure they will really take a through look. Sorry for the long rant. Take care ❤.

I had a positive ANA reading about 5 years ago. The doctor dismissed it, telling me that my ethnicity is the reason I had a higher reading. This same doctor told me once I had gastro when I had a chest infection and needed antibiotics! Needless to say, I went elsewhere. Back to the RA topic. Yesterday, I finally had a doctor take me seriously and sent me for blood tests for RA. I have many symptoms of RA ( I have had for years), and my father was diagnosed with RA at age 49. I am now 50 years old. Hopefully, I get decent answers and can start treatment.

@AlcerJoyCapangpangan, what form of colchicine did you take? Where did you get it and how much did you take, for how long? It is a remedy for rheumatoid arthritis in Homeopathic medicine which is a highly diluted formulation which is often considered nano medicine.

I had a Rhumitogist that told me that I didn't have lupus as of yet. He did an exam but no blood work. I had Ana positive and told me to come back when I had symptoms. I gave up on doctors! Then around 5 years later I was hurting went and seen my PCP. She sent me to a different doctor. I have Sjogrens.

I would love to schedule an appointment with you Dr. Grinita. I need help! I went to a rheumatologist years ago and was tested for inflammation because I was suspicious of having lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. She told me my tests came back okay but she really couldn’t tell me unless I was in the middle of a flare up. I get so sick during a flare up that I can’t even imagine going to the doctor in fact I’ve had to cancel appointments I’ve had because I have been having such a hard time walking. Can you help me? I’m going to look into having an online or telemedicine appointment
