Nice, i like it, is the box a standard thing ? Does the big scraper come with it or have you bought it separately? Could you emulsion straight on top ie is it flat enough ? Cheers
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator4 күн бұрын
Not sure, I think I got the promo pack with a mug and a biscuit lol You need to get your own smoothers. As said in the video, you can use any brand. You can paint on it like normal once you sand it down

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator He's meaning as to HOW MUCH COST ?
@neilbradford97525 күн бұрын
Any need to to unibond or similar to stop suction or cure powdery surfaces Phil
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator5 күн бұрын
i'd say use your common sense if you need to put a sealer on. As the surface needs to be dry and 'sound' before you apply it, or all you'll do is pick up loose brittle parts of the wall you are trying to improve on.

If I had a corner would I need to use the metal beed as well Phil usin the product

If it's a good corner I wouldn't bother. If it's bad and you're building it back up look at using a plastic corner edge

@samsonacc80814 күн бұрын
@shanenewton7061 you can use paper bead, with metal strip in it, much better than plastic. Also, paper for cracks instead of fiber mesh

I have been using recently. It's a good stuff and it's very easy to sand it dowm as well.

Phil any pin holes/bubbles as its drying? I get those with Knauf, its the only thing putting me off from using this system again as they are very hard to fill in or smooth out over and over again while drying.
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator4 күн бұрын
no, no bubbles/holes. If you don't put enough on to smooth out you may find areas that look missed/dragged. But you learn to put enough on if its doing that
@AspireDecorating3 күн бұрын
I find the toupret skim and fill leaves pin holes too. Probably too much air injected when they mix in the factory.

Hi phil because it's bare plaster would you seal it before painting or lining. Or is that special plaster
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator5 күн бұрын
I used Gardz on it as I was Lining over it. if emulsion, I'd of just eased it slightly and treated it like a new bare surface.. it is ready to paint though.
@michaelmckenna68805 күн бұрын
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Thanks that's how I do bare plaster guardz. I thought it was a special stuff 🙏
@adrianwebb66835 күн бұрын
Hi , sorry but Newb here . What do you mean when you say eased it ?? Love your videos, I’ve learned a lot
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator5 күн бұрын
@@adrianwebb6683 ease = thin it down... sometimes its not by very much, just so its easier to apply.. or soak in better than being 'neat' (as it was)
@sanbucaone5 күн бұрын
He means if he was to emulsion the wall he would have just put a little water in the first coat, hence… to ease it.

No chance , as a decorator in the it not worth the hassle, leave it to the plastering

There's not many decorators who would insist on the clients getting walls reskimmed after stripping wallpaper. Fair play though

Just skim it, way faster and no sanding dust. Perfect finish. No sanding marks.
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator4 күн бұрын
Skim it with what?
@samsonacc80814 күн бұрын
He did skim it. If you are refering to traditional plaster, no way it's faster. Mixing up dust and dirt, carrying bags and buckets and water ... and how long before you can paint 😊? This you paint next day, no sanding dust since you would be sanding with dust extractor. Actually easy sanding is what makes it attractive to decorators, they don't have to worry and lose time on perfect troweling. However, traditional plaster is more durable. This isn't a plastering product, smoothing a wall after wall paper removal, just another prep step before paint that is all.

Interesting Phil, cheers. That sort of wall, traditionally we would have made good and lined it. Would you say this new product is better than lining paper? Looks like a great finish. Probably quicker too?
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator5 күн бұрын
Oh I still lined it.. I used Albany Reinforced Lining paper... it's made for such a better wall than leaving it all Umpy Dorri.. If you didn't line it, I'd say two applications I'd of got it a lot flatter. But with the house being 150yrs old.... the customer likes the character of not having falt walls.
