Hey Nicholas! Yeah perspective with the robo beans were tough for me as well. But sticking it out in the end worked out. Even now ... I still have some issues with using the more boxy structures. The bean still works better for me. Guess it's one of those things :).

Really loved your talk in this one, especially enjoyed the section about your kids - sounds so much fun going out together, searching for art supplies or drawing together in piece, feels like a great way to connect. Thank you for your honest words, they really mean a lot as I am myself a bit older beginner (almost mid-twenties) and also try to draw a few hours every day atm. It definitely pays off, even though some days are hard! Totally agree with you in needing to get over the first phase of frustration ( I fear there will be many in front haha) to get to the fun part. I never had fun before, because I simply couldn't draw "good" enough to at least somehow depict what I was looking at/thinking about. I know you kinda should start drawing *because* of the fun, but well, took me a while (3-4 months with intense practice and barely any fun) to get there :D What exactly is the name of the fantasy drawing book you mentioned in the beginning? I tried to search for it but weirdly enough couldn't find it, maybe I didn't understand the name just right.

Lol. I definitely know what you mean about getting over the frustration and getting better before it becomes fun. This is a great point .. and I don't think I quite thought about it in that way ... but it sure makes a lot of sense looking back on it. Yeah there were a few months of torture! Lol ... glad I stuck it out and glad to know that I'm not alone in this journey. Thanks! The book I'm drawing from is "Mastering Fantasy Art: Drawing Dynamic Characters" By John Stanko

Nice! Sometimes I hear people saying 10 minutes per day … but they must draw super fast. In 10 minutes I don’t have anything valuable on the paper lol 😆

Also, if you want to work on drawing fast check out the Bobby Chiu 90 Mac life drawing class on his KZbin channel. They are weekly and really fun.

Yeah I actually watch quite a few of his videos including a lot of his interviews. Good stuff. Looks like we roll in some of the same circles :).
