As always a great video from a quality teacher. So rare to find someone of Bill’s calibre on KZbin teaching for free. Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos- I really made the breakthrough from learner to someone who feels confident playing accompaniments to songs using your books. Highly recommend Bill to every aspiring pianist. He is the real deal.

Andrew Huberman - a Stanford University Labs researcher who has a KZbin channel devoted to the brain and body just had a really awesome info-podcast on creativity where he discusses the physiological characteristics of the brain and body related to creativity compared to application with focus - namely the states associated with divergent vs convergent thought and the ways in which to best induce those two states for the related tasks of creativity or focused attention. Definitely useful for musicians or anyone creative - clears up a lot of the enigma of the 'mood' of creativity or focus.

Oh! Bill! I love it! I've been fascinated by this idea for a while: If I'm not learning well enough, maybe my learning ability is not good enough. Why do I have to learn the same thing repeatedly? Why can't I learn it just once and be done? No one else addresses this topic. Keep up the good work. I'm a fan.

Hi Bill. I like this tip a lot!! I want to get back to piano, after a few years away from it. Can you recommend any methods or tips for people wanting to return back to playing again? I used to get so nervous, my fingers would shake in front of the teacher and my hands would get so sore in the joints, that I just stopped playing.

Definitely going to give this a try. I'm going to up my practicing game this coming year and this seems a good way to do that. Thanks Bill! Hope you and your family have a great Christmas and a prosperous 2023! 🎅👍 P.S. Your book is going to be my Christmas present to myself! :)

I bought an electric toothbrush but had a power outage. But thanks to working on my trills, I was able to get by.

Correction: 2 mins = 30 seconds each, left / right / top / bottom; obviously. Also, I now notice that my metronome/ tuner app has a session timer as well... Useful for concentration sprints, then.

A part of me feels you should monetize this video, or at least put an affiliate link to this toothbrush Bill! Your presentation made a good case for getting an electric toothbrush in addition to your usually sterling musical advice!

I agree. Musicians have terrible teeth maintenance and it should definitely be something to improve upon.
