Made a conscious effort to throw jigs instead of smaller soft plastics I grew up on last year and the formula worked textbook. I never caught quantity like I did with smaller worms and tubes, but the quality was so much better on the jig bites I got. Great vid, I'm a swim baiter having his worst year ever. I'm getting nothing, the lakes I'm on have giant bass but right now they are tough. Some guys stuck a big one that I've heard of, but for me it's been tough and expensive , already lost several Hudds and a Deps 250, now I'm working on losing my Talons. Vids like this help, thanks.

This video really hit home. I have really been trying to catch my new pb recently. I found out about this pond that gets very little pressure, and has GIANTS. My friend caught his PB recently on a keitech EZ shiner, it was just under 6 pounds. and I have gottonen fives out of there which is good for Wisconsin. They seem to be feeding on bluegill and crawfish in the pond. So I honestly don't know what to throw lol. Any advice? Awesome video guys, keep it up please. These kind of videos you do are the best. I've been trying to break the Minnesota state record, which is only 8lbs 15oz. I found a lake where I have caught dozens of 5 to 6 pound bass which is just unheard of in MN. However, the lake is only a couple acres which you said doesn't usually breed state records. Would this be a good lake to find a state record or should I head to bigger bodies of water instead.
@tacticalbassin7 жыл бұрын
If its producing 6's you just never know. But I'm concerned that you're catching a lot of them... typically that means there is a top end. If there was one monster in there surrounded by dinks you might have a better chance.

Do you think a 5.8" Keitech is good for fishing slowly on the bottom for those record northern strain bass in the winter time cold water or do you think I should buy a Huddleston 68 or a 7" SmashTech? I just don't want to spend much since I fish from the bank only and lose a lot of baits, but don't want to hurt the odds of catching a record bass...

What about catching larger fish in some what pressured water. I have a couple places locally that are man made and do house 6+ pound fish that i've caught. These places almost always have lines in the water. What do you do to find those kinds of fish and what do bass do to avoid pressure? I'm curious on your take on it as i've heard plenty of other opinions. These video has me fired up. I want to see a 7 pound bass this year and i know everywhere i fish can house a fish like that.

What an awesome truthful video Matt. Risk= you cant discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose site of the shore. If you keep throwin tubes and small soft plastics around your gonna continue to catch mostly smaller fish....but if your not scared to throw a bigger bait like a big swimbait the risk is worth the reward!!! Great video
