If you have curly hair, you have to take into account that it will spring up. I think curly face framing is SOOOOO pretty. However, the effect is different then on straight or blown out hair (like what I showed). If you're interested in trying it, take these ideas to your stylist so she can customize it for your hair texture. Don't try to cut it yourself at home.

I have thick hair so this may not work for you, but I just use a 1 1/4 inch curling iron. I only do the front section. The idea is easy, not to have to do the whole head like in the past few years. No way am I doing rollers or anything like that.

After having one length hair, I took the leap and cut my hair in curtain bangs. I love the results and like you, I like the 90's supermodel look. I use velcro rollers too. I have yet to master the heated dryer brush. When I got it for Christmas I tried and my hair looked unruly and frizzy. I use a flat iron once a week and my hair stays smooth. I would like to use the iron less. Would you consider doing another video. Your hair looks so smooth and silky. I asked you this before, perhaps you didn't see it. @SirenaSpades
@SirenaSpades Жыл бұрын
I already did the 90's lol You make me laugh :) I have a modified version of this, and I cut bangs into them. It's a nice softer look. I brought a picture in with me of a KZbinr when I wanted the cut done. I just had this done last year, before that I had no bangs and had very long hair. I have bang trims scheduled fairly frequently and full haircuts not so much, but in a couple weeks I have the full haircut, I may have the curtain part more exaggerated after seeing this. I CANNOT do the long bang/curtain like you, the hair in my face drives me absolutely NUTS! I pin it back at home. And I have to keep cutting the center myself because I cannot stand them in my face.

I have curtain bangs and they are super flattering on rounder faces like mine! As you said, they really can frame your face nicely if they are cut well for your face shape. Love them but I'm too scared to ever cut them myself but if I do decide someday, I'll use this video. Oh, and I have a side part that I always wear on the right side so yeah, hard to switch to another part because they'll look weird but that's how I like it so that's how they cut them for me. Absolutely can be worn with a side part but terms and conditions may apply etc. :D Oh, one thing though - they always fall down on my face after a bit of time, even with rollers. Do I need to hair spray them aggressively? :D
@GlamGirlGabi
@GlamGirlGabi Жыл бұрын
Yes they do look great with rounder faces! They frame the jawline so well and naturally contour the face. In this video, I didn't teach how to cut them but I taught you how to style them so that they sit beautifully. So your stylist cut them on a side part? That is perfect. Then it's almost like a side swept longer fringe. If they fall into your face, you want to use a medium hold hairspray and make sure that you hit the root with the spray so that you freeze the position from the root. Does that make sense?

Hey! So I have been on this journey for a year and a half and I have not coloured my hair at all. 90% of my har is virgin but there are some grown out highlights right at the bottom. Do you see that? If I were to make this color using the Goldwell color line, my natural color is a 4N but my highlights are around a 7NA. My hair is shiny because it is super super healthy now and also because of the way that I blow it out with a hot air brush. The hot air brush from TYMO has completely changed the way my hair looks. It's super soft and full looking after I use it. I only use it twice a week though so that I don't create too much heat damage.

Hello Gaby, love your videos l would like to know, since my hair is fine and thin, how far back can I start to section my hair to give the illusion of fullness, within the width of my eyebrows. Thinning hair, is part of the aging process, that sucks . Thank You/Merci, 🥰 from Prov of Qc.

Hey! Bonjour! I am Canadian as well. I live in Ontario. I would definitely ask your stylist. It is something that is so individual that I can't say without being directly in front of you and looking at your hair. Don't attempt to cut this from home the first time. Get your stylist to do all the ground work for you and then you can trim it up from there.

Curtain bangs definitely make me look better and younger! When I look at pictures of myself with short blunt bangs, my face looks heavier and my nose larger. Curtain bangs have the opposite effect.
@GlamGirlGabi
@GlamGirlGabi Жыл бұрын
YES! Absolutely correct. Short blunt bangs REALLY accentuate the nose. I actually had a rhinoplasty but before I had a larger nose and bangs always looked terrible on me. It draws arrows right to that part of the face.

Hey Dante! I haven't coloured my hair in a year and a half! I don't have any plans of refreshing the caramel. I think I want it to be completely virgin and see how it looks from there. I just LOVE how healthy and shiny it is. My curls also look significantly better now that there is almost no bleach left over.

I have a widows peak and usually part my hair to one side. Lately been considering a longer bang as you showed …. With widows peak would that be good?
@GlamGirlGabi
@GlamGirlGabi Жыл бұрын
It could work but, just like you said, the part has to be shifted to the side. This is a great example of the fringe needing to be customized to suit your growth pattern. Make sure to brings your stylist lots of picture ideas and ask her what she thinks can be done based on the inspiration + your individual growth pattern. That is always key!

PUT THEM IN DAMP HAIR FOR SUPER SHINE AND HOLD! Yes, the good old fashion curler set leaves the hair in the shiniest, healthiest strongest set qnd it's much easier than messing around trying to style with q blow dryer. Try your bangs/fringe from damp directly to roller. Hair doesn't even begin to hold q style until its 80% dry. Let it air dry or use the dryer just to remove the heavy moisture from towel dried hair.... i cannot emphasize the amount of shine styling your hair this way produces.
@GlamGirlGabi
@GlamGirlGabi Жыл бұрын
Wet sets work really well for hold but the hair has to be smooth to begin with. I have very wavy (leaning towards curly) hair. This would not be good for me because I need to manage the frizz before styling. Also - it’s not very practical for most people. Because my hair is curly, it’s porous so it holds into moisture. It would take hours upon hours to dry even if I placed the rollers when my hair was 80 percent dry. If this works best for you though, then you should absolutely do it this way. Everyone’s hair is unique and we have to do whatever works best for us.

@@GlamGirlGabi I hope I wasn't sounding critical. I too am a curly, frizz head! I learned through trial and error how to work with this stuff. I am also a cosmetologist for many decades now. The old roller sets under the dryer were something but they definitely gave us some good experience 😁🤪. Fortunately, in the eighties, my hair was easy to fix and it was fabulous! Trying to change it over to a smooth straighten , and softer look in the 90s was pretty tough for a few years until the proper tools were created. (In the 70s, high school, just long, blunt weighed down a lot of the curls but I was never happy and unexperienced in styling) You are right, we live and learn the best ways to fix our hair. I have been using one large roller at the fringe area for years, no matter how it is cut and styled. I will often sleep in top rollers straight down the top and sometimes whip out electric rollers for a faster finish. All this for a smooth full look. I guess we are indeed doing what we know best! ... I enjoy watching you. I will delete that comment if you like. I didn't mean to contradict you.

I wanted to get curtain bangs but my stylist just made me a ‚leveled‘ fringe? I dunno how to call it. But it’s just shortest at the beginning of my middle part and gets longer the way down. It don’t look that bad tho, but I wanted curtain bangs. 😢 now I have to wait for them to grow out longer… *sigh*
