Also, it helps to place a piece of paper with the address information inside the box (if possible, tape it to the item inside the box). Just in case the outside label comes off or the box is damaged and the packaging separates, the mail recovery center of the postal service (formerly called the dead letter office) can reunite you with your parcel.

Sue, that's great advice. I should have thought to say that. I will often put another ID label inside my luggage just in case the luggage tag comes off but inside the box...that's another good idea.

Good advice! I saw a young woman at the post office asking all sorts of questions related to not just packages, but envelopes as well . . . I spent a few seconds wondering how she didn't know any of this, then realized, my children are probably about 5 - 8 years older than her.

You would be surprised how many people don't know how to do something as simple as address an envelope. A box or package is much more difficult. So, I'm hoping this video clip helps.

The way you tried to mark out, the barcode will not work. That will not stop a reader by going across it like that you must fill in on an up-and-down motion, the same way the bars are to destroy the code

Also you can turn an Amazon box inside out and retape it .BRAND NEW
