Two questions: How come you did not get a front locker and if the kitchen is on the far side, why did you choose to put the fridge on the driver's side?
@Warhorse4698 жыл бұрын
+S Dem. if you only had the cash for one locker then putting are locker in the rear will benefit the patrol more then it would if you put one in the front, r50 pathfinders are the same they benefit from having are locker in the rear more then the front, I seen this information in passing when i was on one of the patrol forums.

Hi Graham! Love your channel you're a funny guy! In september we're coming to Perth and we want a Nissan Patrol for sure. Planning to buy a 2005 and on model with the facelift because of the resolved problems with the ZD30 grenade engine. Are there any other common problems or things to check out while inspecting the car? Hoping you can give us some awesome tips and tricks. Regards Natasha & Hans from the Netherlands.

I really like the spacecab mod, never seen anything like it. If only it had a better engine though, wouldn't need to carry so much fuel.

I’m from Texas, so have a question. Do y’all try and avoid things made in China like we do over here? I wasn’t sure where all the bits and pieces are made that outfit your rigs. Do y’all have the same view of Chinese made stuff being cheap and non reliable as we do?
@robertmcdonald17776 жыл бұрын
yes. we avoid china like the plague... but some things you've got not choice with. Most of our heavy duty stuff is all Australian Made using Australian steel.
@3535gt6 жыл бұрын
Robert McDonald I’m glad to hear that. I view Australian made products as having superb craftsmanship and strength. Just seeing what y’all do with your rigs. My hats off to you guys doing all you can to make your stuff local and use Australian steel. Someday I’ll be over there wheeling and can’t wait to see a lot of yalls setups in person. Have a blessed day.

Robert McDonald Most non-recycled steel blocks and sheets are Chinese made actually, all the Aussie companies do is slice and dice Chinese steel to your spec. The reason their products (the Chinese) aren't great is because the importers are tight arses, you get what you pay for... Most high end stuff we love is Chinese made from Chinese resources. Mobile phones, clothes, shoes etc...
@Noises6 жыл бұрын
We mine the Iron ore, send it to china where they make it into steel which they sell back to us through companies that used to be Australian owned and operated but now are just badges that used to mean something. Some fucking assholes decided to elect some conservative assholes who worship money and they basically looked for how they could best rip off our country, they made an arseload of cash doing it and we get stuck buying Chinese shit with Aussie markups from dickheads who are still voting in these same union-hating con-men who sent our manufacturing industry offshore because cheaper workers equaled better bottom lines for the shareholders in the 80's and 90's. You can pay an extra 400% for the allegedly "Australian Made" version but 9 times out of 10 you can see it's just rebadged shit out of the same factory in China that some Aussie company rebranded and marked up to cash in on idiots and their nationalistic nostalgia. Sound familiar? It should.

Hey Graham, am working up a GU build and love the idea of the extra cab. It looks like you have started with a coil ute and fabbed the extra cab bit on to the back rather than chop a wagon. Did you consider the chop path, or had the ute and built from there?

What kind of turbo are u using. Is that a zd30?
@purge986 жыл бұрын
All your gas struts/pistons are mounted upside down. They should be mounted so the shiny shaft is at the bottom when the door/hatch is closed. This allows the oil inside to cover the shiny piston most of the time to prevent seals from drying out (affecting lubrication) and aid damping at the end of the stroke. Amateur mistake.
@MrFYVM5 жыл бұрын
Actually, it's not a mistake. This is done on vehicles that see the outback deliberately, so that dust doesn't accumulate on the pistons. By fitting them this way, there is less oil on the pistons, hence less dust, and hence longer life out bush. It's little considerations like this that mark the difference between a civilian weekend 4WD and a real bush vehicle.

Honestly, I'd love to do a jeep one day. But there just aren't enough of them over here to "play with" as such. Rare enough to not be cheap, but without the performance or features to match the price.. If that makes any sense. If I ever found the right JK with a blown motor, I'd look for a crashed foton and put the cummins/borgy driveline and dana's from it in the jeep.
