Japan Rail Pass and Night Trains: If you're coming to Japan with a JR Japan Rail Pass, it's good for more than just the #shinkansen (bullet train). If you want to get off the beaten path and save on a night at a hotel, perhaps the SUNRISE IZUMO EXPRESS from Tokyo Station to the Sea of Japan is your ticket. All you need is a reservation and it's free! In this episode, John reports from this unique sleeper car on a 12 hour 950km ride to Yonago, Matsue and Izumo. #japanrailpass #japan #train #pass #tokyo #JR #サンライズ出雲 #電車 #nighttain #couchette

@WaoryuONLYinJAPAN9 жыл бұрын
Hungry Guy Quirky_On_Shy I think so, but on the other hand, I don't think Japanese passengers buy more than one. It's "mottainai" and taking more than one person needs. I I think if you have a lot of hair, shampoo it when you arrive the next day. For guys, there's no excuse to use more than 6 minutes! It's not THAT amazing. haha! There were some students who SHARED a shower with a friend. 3 min and 3 min ... or together? I didn't ask. -John

The Sunrise Izumo will have to offer food service for me at a minimum to take that train. Via Rail, Amtrak, RZhD, Trenitalia, SNCF, Caledonian Sleeper and many other European trains offer food service onboard long-distance intercity trains. Why JR didn't pre-covid do the same with respect to the Sunrise Seto or Izumo beat me although maybe JR will realize that on offering on-board meal service it lags behind RZhD and most of the Western counterparts of Japan's and Russia's equivalents to Amtrak.

I'm sure those Japanese love these foreign vloggers talking into their cameras on public transport. Ha ha! You will receive many respectful bows.

The sun rises 4:30 in the morning! The most interesting thing about this video imo. Can't believe that.

It's kind of annoying too! All the birds start chirping so loud - it's too early! lol By 5am, it's pretty bright.

My only complaint with the bed/seat/ berth sections (zaseki) is that you don't have much privacy, but also with other people sleeping, it makes it harder to fall asleep

Rural Japan is beautiful...the sequence from 10:00 to 11:45 is a feast for the eyes. But what the heckie deckie is up with Eshima Ohashi?? How?? Why??? That looks like driving up it would kill you??? I guess it's not as bad as it looks but nope nope nope never nope I would die. As for the train I'd probably shell out the dough for one of the single compartments. Great video very interesting.

ASHERUISE It can't be much more frightening than the Richmond-San Rafael bridge on San Francisco bay. I've been across that one many times on My motorcycle and often in heavy winds and traffic. Sometimes You think You'll be blown off it! Oh, and there's the narrow and high Coronado bridge in San Diego, that one creeped me out!

Who is watching this in 2020? And not only that; watching this in 2020, and as soon as 3:33 hits, that young lady reminds us of... sigh... 2020.

Technologically we are lagging years from Japan, but in terms of values(cleanliness, respect, time sense, sensibility) we are centuries behind. - Indian (Representing South Asia as a whole)

This is the beautiful thing about humanity and our diverseness. If one group figures out better ways of doing something, it's a good idea for other groups of people to adopt those ways. Finding the strengths in our differences and improving upon ourselves as a whole is how we elevate all of humanity.

@@SlightlyDecent Exactly. Different races and cultures have always adopted better ways of doing things from others, whether they like it or not.
